Sweet summer Saturdays

Despite the recent Pew report showing how faith in general and the Church in particular are collapsing there are many places for hope.

Cool story on these North Carolina friars.

So I’ve been debating getting some help with nostr:npub10qrssqjsydd38j8mv7h27dq0ynpns3djgu88mhr7cr2qcqrgyezspkxqj8 production + shorter form video editing…

BUT I also have an extremely efficient/productive workflow right now using Riverside and I’m kind of torn… BUT I also have a fiat job that demands a lot of my attention… BUT I also do most projects of my podcast shit at night when the wife and son are asleep…

Idk basically I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it to hire a hardcore Bitcoiner or if I should just do a couple trials on Fiverr and see how it goes…

Thoughts?

Zapping just so I hopefully remember to look into what these tools are later

ā€œLet us then, O sinners, return instantly to Jesus Christ. If we have left him, let us immediately return before death overtakes us in sin and sends us to Hell, where the mercies and graces of the Lord shall, if we do not amend, be so many swords which shall lacerate the heart for all eternity.ā€ (see CS Lewis’ ā€˜The Great Divorce’ here) - St Alphonsus Maria Liguori, sermon for Laetare Sunday.

Coming to terms with one’s own sin is (exceedingly) painful. Though, at this halfway point through Lent, Our Lord and the Church offers us solace, as well-explained here by one of the Doctors of the Church.

Very edifying for any who care to read.

A beautiful afternoon for flying around western SD

Was pricing flight costs per hour historically and realized $90 in 2001 is roughly $177 inflation adjusted USD in 2025.

This is why saving in a fixed supply money is important. Then the ruler for the thing you’re measuring never changes.

My First 3 Thoughts About Using Nostr.

1. The feed here feels clean, less like a firehose of nonsense, and more like an experience. Social media fatigue has been my biggest hurdle to trying something new. Between š•, Facebook, and Instagram, keeping up has been exhausting as a solopreneur. But this? It’s like revisiting ā€œOld ways, new days.ā€ Honestly, it’s pretty damn cool to see a space that feels this refreshing. I’m getting the late1990s AOL WaReZ room feels.

2. Let’s face it…the way social media monetizes engagement is a dumpster fire, as it rewards spammy behavior, divisive posts, and clickbait nonsense. Here, the idea of people directly rewarding people feels…right. It aligns incentives in a way that makes sense; over time, I think this will be what sets Nostr apart.

3. The overall vibe here? Optimistic. It’s refreshing not to wade through the black-pilled doomers dominating š• these days. Over there, it feels like the loudest voices are just shouting their opinions into the void—and honestly, I’m over it. Here, the conversations feel constructive. People want to contribute something meaningful instead of just making noise.

Who of you has or has seriously thought about leveraging your BTC to pay off short-term debt if you can cover the interest/principal over a term with cash flow and BTC cycle is bullish? Current rates 13.4-14.9%

Please tell me why, besides potential downside short-term volatility, I need to tell myself I am dumb for thinking this thought ….

My son: dad did somebody buy this playground?

Me: yes son the city owns it.

Son: where did they get the money?

Me: they get it from the people.

Son: Ohh. So they steal it?

Me: not quite but that’s awful close son

So, I’ve been avoiding social media for Lent. Happened to hop on this AM and the whiplash between pure goodness/community development and vitriol/pot-stirring just hurts.

Gonna get back to real-life now.
