Just watched Deep Impact, because I had some time and it was on TV, and I always end up watching it when it’s on. First time watching it as a parent, though. Can’t decide if I’m ashamed to say I basically cried the last 30 mins.

Gm and pv #nostr

Remember, health is upstream of everything. Prioritize accordingly.

Friends what’s the best general guide/resource to all things #nostr?

You understand me too well, sir. Oddly enough I feel like the ubiquity of music that gen z has grown up with completely deprives them of a deeper joy of discovery, the joy in exploration that actually takes effort, of shared musical experiences that require a degree of commitment.

They don’t know what it’s like to tape the radio, order music from paper catalogs, wait for stores to open, buy an album based solely on the cover art and have that be a real gamble with real money, etc.

The mystery has been removed, as it has with so many other things too.

My daughter is almost old enough to start exposing her to some Jimi. Softer Jimi. Still remember when I bought the electric ladyland album in eighth grade and was totally transported.

It always sneaks up on me and I have to be reminded

Kids these days have no idea how magical Dookie-era Green Day was.

Because Eustace Mullins was a Nazi whose other works include “Adolf Hitler: An Appreciation” and “The Biological Jew,” the latter of which features passages about how, according to Mullins, Jews kidnap Christian children and drink their blood. Mullins was an absolutely raging, unhinged anti-Semite like his friend and mentor Ezra Pound who, lest we not forget, broadcast propaganda for Mussolini and the fascists during WW2. Even a cursory skim through some of his work reveals how out of his fucking mind he was. nostr:note1m4rnc8w9mrtfvg352fh83zeh4yp9t78rtl56j08ct9neff2tj2cqq8xtu3

Great call, need to revisit that one. I just remember the maid suicide scene, which is epic

Oh fuck totally forgot about the shining. Don’t watch it enough because my wife always falls asleep two hours in. But definitely a banger. Will check out smile for sure

Shill me your Halloween essential films.

In my house, we usually watch a selection from the following:

Night of the living dead

Halloween 1

Sometimes Halloween 2

Suspiria (argento version)

Conjuring

Exorcist

Rosemarys baby

The descent

Hellraiser

Nightmare on elm street (first one)

I’m more of the campy cult horror guy. My wife likes more modern, less campy horror. My daughter hasn’t been indoctrinated one way or the other yet.

This was a great pod. We all of course love crass nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs, but I’m not sure thoughtful, serious nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs gets enough credit. So many interesting insights and perspectives here. Thoroughly enjoyed. Well done gents.
