I applied to nostr:nprofile1qqsg8kve59yxyhpa9wupntesvnq0dgfd0k5g769jc6fzrua8gct36xgpzpmhxue69uhkumewwd68ytnrwghszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsq53ra5 now off to walk in an European city...

Perhaps I find myself on Madeira for 2 months in the coemergent field... of "high-bandwidth ideation, experimentation, mentorship, dialog, cross-pollination and discussions on how to build kickass applications, services, and businesses for a self-sovereign future."

I am open and available to be guided to wherever and however I may be a vessel in service to the highest good.

Energy woman💪

I just find it a bit complicated and cumbersome. Nothing like paper and pencil and a good hiding place

Recently I found the motivation I needed for a crash course in internet anonymity. Here’s what I’ve learned so far (don’t use it for anything that it’s illegal in your country 😉):

1- Use TOR browser. Your ISP has no way of knowing what websites you visit nor what data you consume / produce. Plus, your route goes to different places, so it kind of acts like a VPN (remember, don’t use it to access anything that is illegal in your country).

2- Don’t authenticate with your phone (does anyone know about a web-based disposable phone number for authentication?).

3- This is obvious: don’t log in into any account on any website that could be traced back to you. Start new, fresh accounts.

4- To start a new fresh account on most websites you’ll need an email address. Use https://tuamaeaquelaursa.com for a quick disposable email address (there are plenty other options) or Proton Mail if you want something more durable.

5- If you want to go next level anonymous, use Tail Linux booting from a pendrive. This OS doesn’t write to your local disk drive, and all data sent and received from the web goes through the TOR network.

6- nostr:npub1dd9znw7585wsam4d8p84ztdmtywwjsrayld6fzk4fvqdn5hpju4st5xe7p is a VPN service that hides what you do on the internet even from themselves. Unfortunately still not available for usage, only for testers. Check out their discord server for more info.

7- If you want to go full tin foil hat on it, don’t use your own computer and ISP. Instead buy a cheap notebook, run Tail Linux on a pendrive and use public WiFis.

If you know more about internet anonymity please share!!

Dear friend,

it seems like you have decided to turn your back on those walled gardens and set sails to enter uncharted territory. A world without walls, an open world, a world of beautiful chaos. At least for today, I don't intend guiding you out of the safe harbour onto the open, endless sea. Today, my only intent is sharing a few thoughts, before you depart.

As a wise man on Madeira once said, it's not so much about having the right answers, it's about asking the right questions. While I'm not certain whether I have found the right questions myself by now, let me share the current set with you:

* What causes the discomfort that drives you out of the walled garden onto the open sea?

* Are you trying to transfer from one walled garden to the next one, where the difference being a slightly friendlier colour on the wall?

* What are you hoping to find on the open sea that walled gardens cannot provide?

* What are you willing to sacrifice for freedom (of speech)?

* What will you need to keep the ship afloat?

* How will you react when you find yourself in the middle of a storm?

I sincerely believe that it's worthwile taking a step back before departing to reflect on the big picture and the underlying paradigm shift between walled gardens and nostr. This is not about building competitors to broken systems, this is not about mimicking centralised services, this is not about repeating the same mistakes over and over.

This is about building a new world, an open world without walled gardens and data silos.

Onwards!

Nice words to the future I joining 🤝
