At this point, a lot of people have Type-A/USB-C adapters and cables, as well as USB-C to USB-C. If you bought a new laptop in the last five years, you probably have most or all of what you need. That might reduce the level of complaints—and the whole throughput and charging issue won't seem as extreme, either.
nostr:npub1f4dwlre9xrzayv7wvvrkrdh8eyegz85r9s6c52wx36jxedl9qzks8242zv Related, I rented a car in Boston in July and as far as I could tell, it only had USB-C? I had a Lightning-to-USB-C cable with me. Maybe there was a Type-A somewhere, but seemed weird! It was an IC car with CarPlay (including CarPlay over Wi-Fi).

It's not density of ink but the ability to print tiny dots onto newsprint. The finer the screen, the higher resolution the reproduction, the harder to hold the dots on paper. An 85 lpi screen also required compressing tones to preserve shadow and highlight detail, reducing dynamic range.
This is exactly why my wife trained to become an ADHD coach. She's now more than two years into her practice. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/30/business/women-adhd-money.html?unlocked_article_code=QYkPN_JxDhovmsKDnRV0sSVxM1f8NowdtqCgkoXCKtbVddApOh6w8Xng6vRJCl3eSIeInKdj611R6XOqqfs1XgFIjoaRe0UqsWciVPqrmn5VVRyD5dyYPzV6RKIXlW1PTpOLoylc-xu5uVNejadkRswZic9cqYlAIeF3_W0Yqt2bHQpp6_yE3WnmBCRo_DZcgoQ6IJ2tX4ujCXomgH7PyGRpC0MftbBrL8nBnehmblP5oPo_9hNEbtlEnkk6zMY3pyQhAgFnQzLDZzRqDNCNqmOof0f7R9uC_fJravyXYoR5SmLPwrF_5iRR-TCQ33X1XvmxMCp6IJE&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare

Worst college paper experience for me? I took a great photo of the new mayor on campus—the first African-American mayor in New Haven’s history—and our newspaper printer didn’t halftone it. He came out all black with white eyeballs. Now, I think the prints were racists.

THE BOOK BINDING IS GOOD. This is very exciting, as it's practically the last step. Slipcases will be made in the near future, then three volumes (two casebound/hardcover, one softcover) will be slotted into a slipcases, shrinkwrapped, boxed, and sent out!
nostr:npub1eeetax7xxyr7mem486lqayj4av7czytttp9swjwn6yry6sn790lqrve209 That issue you mention of the 480 Mbps USB speed over Thunderbolt cables…it's so maddening because there's no good way (no marking, no macOS/iOS/iPadOS alert) about the speed. Apple could have a simple interface speed presentation…which they do in Migration Assistant. Tell you what the throughput is.

nostr:npub1eeetax7xxyr7mem486lqayj4av7czytttp9swjwn6yry6sn790lqrve209 Damn, Daniel, am I going to have to test this now? Or wait for USB-C. BTW, the anger and frustration over USB-C seems to have settled—I no longer get the same volume of email about it or read the same frustration in bulk online. The reason? Cheaper cables and more of them. People were particularly angry when it was both *confusing* and *expensive*. Also, OWC has a quite affordable Thunderbolt 4/USB4 cable line-up: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/owc-thunderbolt-4-cables

Back in 2020, I published Six Centuries of Type & Printing, a concise book – 64 pages – that actually starts centuries before Gutenberg, with Chinese and Korea printing, and then digs into 1450 to 2020, covering ~600 years of technological advances. Set in hot-metal type (Monotype Bembo) in North Yorkshire, printed in London, and bound in Germany with a foil-stamped cover & slipcase, I still have copies available for shipping worldwide! https://glog.glennf.com/tiny-type-museum-time-capsule-and-more/six-centuries-letterpress (ebook edition available)

Because it's easy to deep fake voices of people you know now, you should always ask shibboleths when somebody seems to be off kilter. "Where did we have your 9th birthday?"
