Glenn researches and writes about the history of printing, focused particularly on newspaper comics and printing molds. Order his book How Comics Were Made. He’s a long-time technology journalist, who contributes regularly to Macworld and TidBITS and writes books in the Take Control Books series. A former Amazon employee (1996–97) who used to eat burritos with Bezos, Glenn is more interestingly a two-time Jeopardy! winner.

But you gotta do it right or it’s meaningless—and puts people at © violation lawsuits from those who may actually hold the rights you may not own fully or have the right to assign.

Apple’s documentation has insisted for several releases that a numeric code will be asked for—no exceptions. Never got a response from Apple on this. (This is like the old days, eh?)

Has anyone received a strange letter from Digital River?

nostr:npub1u4kdjphm3zjuanddjnuf0x2dw4gxleg4n6j3c8equp4w6z8mmxyq0nvxe4 Well, this is where it gets tricky. New traits given to public-domain characters that are original enough are certainly protected under copyright law: so Bigby as a human detective as distinct protection *apart from* any BBW attributes in the public domain. But also, the stories as a whole, the individual dialog, etc.

nostr:npub1qfl0fge80dw7wfr497jqmcvuthp699yhcna88hk8uxdqt0rqz8pspuny8r whoa! I mean, I watched a two-minute promo and it was so charmless that it felt like my life force was being sucked into the screen.

nostr:npub18nr6f4r7rx6yq9vqg45a6htcwk7pggaty9wcxlxy8a8krn3f8trqdvtmzt I am so excited. I think my Kindle and my iPhone are the last non-USB-C devices I own. Even inexpensive noise-canceling headphones (<$60) I bought a year ago were USB-C! And I hear you on adapters. What wasted time!

A fresh take on the old scam artist: the story takes *forever* to get there, but an Orthodox rabbi, the author of a well-received scholarly work in his community, leaves his family to party as a fake Rothschild in New York. https://apple.news/AksOclpmaTxaKdWTgYjG8_w
