setting drama aside, i dont understand how CVE is being "abused" because the vulnerability is described clearly.. IMO the term "disputed" to describe this pull request is disingenuous and subjective -- clearly all checks surrounding "datacarrier" no longer does what it's supposed to without these changes
by closing this PR, this signals to me that Core contributors' continued lack of interest in addressing datacarrier is purely from laziness. it has been nearly a year without addressing the issue head-on.
personally ive applied these pull requests to my nodes without any issues -- datacarrier behaves as expected.
all i can/will do is give these contributors an earful in-person
