Only found out about nostr:npub1whtn0s68y3cs98zysa4nxrfzss5g5snhndv35tk5m2sudsr7ltms48r3ec today and am trying it out, looks promising.

No worries, thanks for the feedback. Working in isolation there was always a risk of me taking it in a different direction I guess. But yes, it was a lot of fun to do - thanks for posting the stems.

I programmed the drum part and the piano too. I heard so much rhythm in your vocal line that I was trying to play into, but guess that was just to my ears.

It’s fine if you don’t like it, or think I went too far.

Hi nostr:npub1w3myuqcf6gzgluqtn0mzpmqyqyqlzhtrhdsna8t287mggjg9j6zs2xjh9z, sorry for the prolonged silence. I think I’ve got a mix! What’s the best way to share it with you? WeTransfer or something else?

I’m really enjoying working on this track. It’s a superb vocal track. I’m not finished yet though, sorry! I’m slow anyway, but currently have a tonne of things to juggle. Any chance of an extension to the deadline?šŸ™

Great. That link seems to have downloaded the files fine for me (but I haven’t checked them all yet).

Two weeks is long enough I reckon. I am already trying to fit too much in these next few weeks, but I’ll hopefully make the time to have a go at a mix. Hope you get a lot of others interested in this too.

This is a great track, the vocal is awesome. Well done for doing this! And having partly suggested this, I’m definitely keen to have a go. But what’s the timescale? And also, what’s the scope - are you looking for someone to just tweak the mix or would you be happy for someone to take it in a totally different direction etc?

I’m due a trip down that way soon enough, so I’ll try to make it work with other plans.

What about the others on the bill, are you all solo sets? You could maybe do with a good house band to sit in with you all.

My new guitar body has arrived, it was a real bargain. Time to start to build a classic Telecaster. I’m really looking forward to this project.

Nice. Yes, I think it’s best to have options all set up to fall back to if nothing else.

I have found that the backend server service on my S9 for Matrix has been rock solid. All the issues I’ve had were in getting the flaky front end clients to connect or stay connected over Tor. That said, I started using Schildi chat instead of Element (it was forked but improved) and hit a sweet run of no issues for months. Then Element seemed to get sorted by a better release too. And the issues I was having using Orbot to get Element to connect on my mobile were resolved by an Orbot update too I think. But not used it much the last couple of months so that could be out of date again now.

It was a mistake on nostr:npub1lqvv69u549atefvcyfht30lemlyvl9jnz4l7c6ejs20yzpq7hh7sjjfx0r ā€˜s part to put the Meshtadel in such simple terms, he will pay dearly for that on our next PMM recording 🤪

The Meshtadel’s communications are decentralized across many different messaging apps, here on nostr, our shows on nostr:npub1jcympy69pht7ptan39se4nd09e4q66qhey649uu3rczm2zh88c7s0n2890 , large meetups like nostr:npub1j9lf47qjgk94jhzdx24wwta8g8vus5lpaa87xwr89aectd30mjnqx0xy0g , small ones like just a few of us getting together to help one of our members herd cattle, or our monthly scheduled calls or impromptu calls with one another.

Cool. And sounds like you’re already quite decentralised.

I’ve heard Max say he’s running Start9’s. Element / Matrix works great on those if you aren’t already using that - your own group chat is on your own hardware then and backed up etc.

Thanks, Jon, that’s a great clip. It does sound like a very useful and valuable group you’ve got going there. But surely too valuable to be on a centralised 3rd party service like Telegram was what I meant.

This was a really good episode, very enjoyable chat.

I’ve been listening to the show for a few months and wondering what the hell the Meshtadel was that you keep talking about, it always sounds amazing. I was thinking ā€˜maybe these guys are doing something really cool with meshtastic nodes or some real, resilient off grid comms kind of stuff?’ But the wonderful irony of Max saying that the Meshtadel is in fact ā€˜just a Telegram group’ about 2 minutes after calling most bitcoiners LARPers, was too good not to pass comment on.

You could maybe do this as a sort of competition format? Post the stem tracks and give a bounty in sats for your favourite submitted mix? Or post your favourite couple of mixes with different splits and see which one does best etc?

Yesterday I heard nostr:npub1lt8nn8aaa6qa63wjwj8gz2djf5nlhg3zfd0v6l45v8zhvuyh0p3s5zzt5y on nostr:npub1jcympy69pht7ptan39se4nd09e4q66qhey649uu3rczm2zh88c7s0n2890. It was a very interesting episode, so I went back and listened to the first two that I hadn’t heard either - all really great chats.

I want to buy some of that timber!

Also, can you CNC and is that a service you’ll offer? I’m keen to make a guitar this year and would really like to see it cut all the way from being a plank of wood this time.
