Yesterday I made a test, warned against this account with a hashtag of the name and a certain bird, and promptly got the #scam again. It's the sign that this paragon of a #troll factory or a narcissistic bot tinkerer hopping instances is not reacting randomly. Don't just block it, it's important to #report it so that it finally comes to an end. Don't click the links. If it's #scraping, a joke, or an attack on the Fediverse: a #fediblock would be fine! The phrase pattern could be filtered.

Talking Points Memo editor Josh Marshall gets what most Big Journalism organizations refuse to consider, much less acknowledge:
"Musk Is In Charge of the US Government"
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/not-hyperbole-anymore-musk-is-in-charge-of-the-us-government
Our "news" orgs have barely begun to spot brush fires, much less the reality: Everything is burning.

The time cover? https://edition.cnn.com/2025/02/07/media/time-magazine-elon-musk-cover-trump/index.html
And the Guardian calls it a bromance which reminds of the famous kissing Putin image.
But even Musk must have strategists behind him. The rapid, pre-planned destruction of democracy cannot be his doing alone, he is not good enough for such a complex work, and too often on drugs.

"Microsoft Office, like many companies in recent months, has slyly turned on an âopt-outâ feature that scrapes your Word and Excel documents to train its internal AI systems. This setting is turned on by default, and you have to manually uncheck a box in order to opt out.
If you are a writer who uses MS Word to write any proprietary content (blog posts, novels, or any work you intend to protect with copyright and/or sell), youâre going to want to turn this feature off immediately.
I wonât beat around the bush. Microsoft Office doesnât make it easy to opt out of this new AI privacy agreement, as the feature is hidden through a series of popup menus in your settings:
On a Windows computer, follow these steps to turn off âConnected Experiencesâ: File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Optional Connected Experiences > Uncheck box: âTurn on optional connected experiencesâ"

In the #museum, we sell homemade #jams made by volunteers from our association using fresh #fruit from their gardens.
Male visitor: It costs about the same as in the supermarket, but it doesn't even have a company name on it!
His wife: Well, without a company name, we'd better not buy that.
People in their 40's. What a sad life never to have tasted homemade jam! (Even the labels are handwritten).

New analysis: #AI #chatbots like OpenAI's #ChatGPT and #Google 's #Bard consume an astronomical amount of #electricity and #water â or, more precisely, the massive #dataCenters that power them do. By 2027, these server farms could use anywhere between 85 to 134 terawatt hours of #energy per year, 0.5 percent of the entire globe's energy demands." https://futurism.com/the-byte/ai-electricity-use-spiking-power-entire-country #climateCrisis #ressources #greed #LLM

nostr:npub1y983ak4d75rqdumcpyjxwy9mm4yw0v09gyppp8xa7xgyde8dt0qsdpgke7 Thank you, Annie! đ The work with #rustprint resembles utterly the #Rorschach test.đ You #print and don't know the results. They depend on materials, the chemical process, the way of bundling etc. When I hanged the papers for drying I saw the landscape like abstract #prints - from there it started.
#RustPrinting is made with the help of Iron(III) acetate as a mordant (attention), produced with iron in a water-vinegar mix: https://thecuriousprintmaker.co.uk/rust-printing-on-paper/ (Correct disposal and protection!)

Completely lost in the discussion about the consequences of #climateEmergency: extreme weather, especially #heatwaves, often has a detrimental effect on mentally ill people. This is aggravated by the fact that they can have problems with things we take for granted, such as drinking regularly. Or they live poorly. #Carers are left completely alone here. Just finishing the phone service to calm someone down so he doesn't go into acute psychosis. 30 degrees in his flat.

Weather extremes everywhere. A disaster in Slovenia: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/floods-hit-slovenia-forcing-evacuations-disrupting-transport-2023-08-04/ To see all these photos and articles (of droughts, heatwaves, floods, ice in summer, heat in winter and wildfires) feels #dystopic. At the same time, we read about new drilling and fossil contracts in several countries. The responsible politicians and CEOs live safe or fly away. I would like to force some of these people to clean up with their hands. It makes me so angry, this don't-give-a-damn attitude. #ClimateDiary
So many people still post screenshots with text but without #AltText. They perhaps don't know that #Mastodon has OCR if they used image descriptions (at least via the browser). You want to give them an AltText (or read the post) and you know the problem: You can't use their #OCR. For this take the bot @ ocrbot@kolektiva.social (without space)
Mark it in a comment and it will give you the text via OCR technique. The default is English, you can change the language code. #feditips
