Yeah we could skip the jet fuel for that building. Glad to see there’s some critical thinkers on here that know something about physics and engineering.
I want to weld up a 20’ tall scale model of building 7 as performance art, and have an eternal flame fed by a bulk tank of av gas engulfing it 24/7, and see how many decades it stands.
They’re actually manufacturing flight data recorders out of the same material as passports now.
Ever since we went carnivore I’ve been waking up naked in the middle of the night in the forest, standing over random carcasses with no memory of how I got there lol.
You guys have covered some ground these past months. Looking forward to doing the same someday. I want to wake up with my wife in a tent on the sand on South Padre Island near Corpus one day, do the Oregon coast again, and spend two full months on Vancouver Island just exploring and hiking/biking.
Bring on the meat sweats lol. Eggs, sliced fried moose roast in garlic and butter, and steak strips with mushrooms and onions. I won’t have to eat till this time tomorrow. #carnivore #realhumandiet

Thanks for the reply! This is all I have in the /config folder. Right now I’m just in the process of formatting an external drive to load a standalone Linux distro onto so I can get my feet wet on more Linux stuff. To be seen if I can SSL into my Start9 with it and use that Linux installation as a terminal for Start9. Not sure how the registry addition of the cert will work for that. Another project.
Yes I have a DIY Start9 on a super capable mini PC. Using my primary PC as a terminal and running Sparrow. I’ve had no issues connecting via Electrum for connecting wallets, and using a 3 TB backup USB drive connected to my Start9 for doing routine backups but I think this Webtop Linux VNC might be incapable of recognizing USB devices from what I can see in the documentation.
The main reason I was interested in embarking on this exercise was as a way of having a backup deployment of Sparrow if my primary PC terminal ever goes down I can just connect to my mini PC Start9 from another computer (after sharing the SSL cert) without necessarily having to run sparrow on the second computer. Like if I ever have to just toss my Start9 in a bag and leave.
I am also thinking I might just set up a dedicated largely offline Linux laptop as a more portable backup deployment of Sparrow. The end goal being to never be without the ability to conduct transactions from cold storage if my main PC goes down.
I’m just starting to research switching all of my BTC stuff over to Linux because I am so done with Microsoft’s privacy violations. I’m thinking a laptop might be an easier way to go.
I can’t find any crossover access between the Webtop file system and the file system storage for the rest of the apps like Sparrow. I imagine that segregation is by design.
I wouldn’t burn a bunch of time on it but I was just doing it as an experiment because I like fucking around with this stuff. Thanks for the comment. There is very little documentation on novel uses of some of this software.

NaturalReader on the Apple AppStore is amazing. Well worth a premium subscription. You can read any text with it, the AI voices are amazing, and it can also do optical character recognition and mp3 conversions
The final result after another 10 mins on a screen rack and a dripping pan at 400°F
My wife’s first stab at “carnivore pizza”. The “crust” is ground beef and eggs, and spices, the sauce is butter, cream, garlic, cheddar and Parmesan and the toppings are largely meat and cheese too. I need a nap just looking at it lol. #carnivore
Has anyone messed around with using the nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll webtop version of Sparrow Wallet and have any input on how to get around the lack of USB device support for exporting, signing and importing PSBT’s and final signed TX files?
On the file system browser in KasmVNC (Start9 webtop) I can’t even navigate to a sparrow directory. Conversely, I can’t find PSBT’s that I’ve saved through Sparrow on Start9 anywhere on the file system.
Seems to be a few markets and eating spots on Merchant Radar. But still kind of underwhelming.

I’m using the hosted option and a single decent channel but there is no channel management required with the hosted option other than adding liquidity if you want more on a particular channel. I still have a lot to learn about lightning and the app but it seems to me that if your node has more than one channel it’d be opportunistic for channel selection based on finding the most efficient route.
Interested to hear anything you learn.
The main reason I have the hosted service is because I’m not transacting huge amounts on lightning and if there’s a hardware issue, Alby sorts it out. I’m not faced with a potential loss of 1M sats for each decent channel, and the need to replace my node hardware.
I messed around with a self hosted node on Start9 and while it is pretty easy to do, I wasn’t willing to risk a couple million sats and mess around trying to find reliable channel partners for experimentation purposes. I don’t have the time in a given week to be maintaining and troubleshooting liquidity and other issues if they arise. And they do. My Alby service went down for a while because the machine that my hosted Alby Hub was running on had a hardware issue. It took a week, but Alby sorted it out. If it took them a week, such an issue would have taken me a month on my own self hosted lightning node.
If there’s one thing that will deter me from continuing my subscription, it’s the price. Since it is denominated in USD I’m paying more CAD for the service than I think it’s worth just for sending and receiving zaps. But I’m mostly eating that subscription fee gladly every month for now, and treating it as tuition cost and perhaps supporting the network and devs along the way.
As far as node operating goes, I’m quite happy just to have a Core node humming away with Electrum allowing me to connect wallets to it. I just don’t have the free time for a full fledged Lightning deployment. nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm hub is a nice fit for users that don’t have the time or free sats to risk, but it mainly comes down to time. The subscription fees that will likely end up being $250 CAD for me this year are guaranteeing that I won’t have to mess around for hours managing channels and solving hardware issues if they arise.
I’m monitoring the experience and how Alby handles billing and reliability month to month and will renew my subscription according to the utility I am getting out of it. For now it’s a pretty premium service just for sending and receiving zaps, but I like the promise Alby Hub has as a means for me to set up vendors to accept Bitcoin.
I was thinking the other day what if I dedicated half of my screen time every week to meeting freedom and prepping minded people in my local area. Including cattle farmers, tradespeople, food producers and artisans; people that could really benefit from what I have to teach them about Bitcoin, and people I could then trade goods and services with and get away from a dependence on stores.
It’s not an entirely practical thought given that our screen time comes in small bites, and forming meaningful relationships in real life requires a significant time investment while working 50 hours a week at the fiat mines. But maybe there’s a way to accomplish much of it while working. It’s a thought in progress.
