- True, and that makes IPv4 a shitcoin too.
- Greater reachability is bad for privacy, and not enough for connectivity.

Heads up! We're rebranding zap.store to Zapstore.
The premium domain renewal is too expensive, so I'm moving it to zapstore.dev for years to come. The middle dot is also confusing for pronounciation.
Website, relay, CDN will all be moving to the new domain in the next release, coming this week.

Amazingly, your npub doesn't change!βΊοΈ
npub > DNS

You are probably right about my point of view.
And I hope you are also right about IPv6 encouraging P2P.
But I still think that 25 years ago nobody though that IPv4 could be scaling so well till today. π
Yeah, I've seen the map, yes! π
But I'm arguing that they are using IPv6... just because IPv6 is available, not because it's really needed or because there's no other option (IPv4).
People using Ethereum doesn't make it less of a shitcoin, imo. π
Regarding IPv6 allowing better P2P networks, sorry but I don't see any evidence about it.
I can see why technically being globally connectable is better for P2P, ofc, but I don't see that P2P networks are actually any better or more common in those countries with more IPv6 penetration.

Ok, there could be no reason for network addresses to be scarce, but they 'are' scarce, mainly because it's easier to manage a scarce space for us humans. And simpler.
The point here is that there's actually no reason to have a public address in every internet connected device!
Actually, I'd argue that it's better to not have a public address in every device.
IPv4 is pushing for decentralization of the address space! βΊοΈ πͺ
Nothing you said is false.
But I'm old enough to remember how IPv6 was sold 25 years ago: as something inevitable to address the biggest flaw of IPv4, needed to support Internet's growth.
But more than two decades later we have witnessed that the internet is perfectly capable of working properly with IPv4, scaling up to a level that no one was imaging then.

Many of the internetβs ills are based on widespread corporate surveillance online. This pervasive system, ran by corporations and governments, stifles our speech, and erodes our privacy. But together, we can dismantle it. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2023/11/address-online-harms-we-must-first-do-privacy
We must move from platforms back to protocols.

Unpopular opinion:
IPv6 is a shitcoin.
It's just about 'printing' more IP addresses, trying to break out a scarcity space.

Wow!
When a Torrent client integration with #nostr to:
- browse Torrent notes from relays.
- use WoT to curate torrents?
π«
Do you think so?
What I'm seeing from outside is that 'crypto' is just being used to gain voters as any other issue typically have been.
But there's no real conviction or even thoughtful debates about it.
π€·
What's changed this time?
It will still be custodial for the rest of the mint users, as a single user mint makes no sense in cashu architecture.
π€·
Ecash improves custodial services, but it doesn't make them no-custodial.

Yeah, but afaik nostr:nprofile1qqs24yz8xftq8kkdf7q5yzf4v7tn2ek78v0zp2y427mj3sa7f34ggjcpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyg8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnddakj703s8dt doesn't get them from a #nostr event (yet).
Am I right?
It would be nice if that list could be published as a nostr list event.
