There is still the requirement for the zap receipt to contain the signed zap request in the description. So both sides still need to sign for a zap to be valid. Shouldn't this be sufficient?

Yeah, it could be a problem if the user is making or receiving a LOT of payments, in reality I’m not sure this will be an issue. If the kind is not encrypted it’s a bit less private and less consistent with the current NIP-47 spec (although more nostr-like).

Maybe it’s possible to go this way for now and make dedicated event kinds in the future if it does become problematic?

I am working on notifications for nostr:npub19hg5pj5qmd3teumh6ld7drfz49d65sw3n3d5jud8sgz27avkq5dqm7yv9p (NIP-47) as an alternative to polling. Calling for feedback from all NWC wallets and clients!

Breez is supported in our brand new NWC app, coming out in a few weeks 🤞 (also has Greenlight, LDK, and we even have made experiments with Phoenixd and Cashu too)

NWC-next supports multiple wallet backends. So cashu is just another one (for now 😁)
