I'm currently running 1.5.3 and would like to update to 1.7.2. (On Linux). I have downloaded the new version, but I'm not sure if I just run the new version or do I need to migrate my current node and wallet to the new version somehow? Do I need to connect my wallet to the new node or will that happen automatically? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
You can just run the new one! It’ll use the same data directory (in your user directory)

In 1.7.2 there is a friends and family app in the App Store of Alby Hub

People should take responsibility if their own money for sure. I think there’s a path to running your own hub and the first experience of using lightning should have as few hurdles as possible
Today Alby Hub 1.7.2 was released which includes a new Friends & Family app for quickly onboarding (you guessed it) your friends and family to bitcoin and lightning, powered by your hub's liquidity. They get a wallet without having to understand lightning or have their own channels, and not rely on large custodial services. They can get their own lightning address with an Alby Account, or connect their new wallet to the Alby extension, or very soon connect to Alby's new mobile app, Alby Go.
I'd love to jump on a call with anyone who would like to test the Friends & Family app or Alby Go, or just hear any feedback in general if you try it on your own! feel free to DM!

I tried out https://nodana.io/ nostr:npub1g26qnlumycdfs538kx4eyur7wpnh0tq5mcjx2nt7qhc9qxehuqpsk4y9fw to host Alby Jim (A subaccount service for Alby Hub). Nodana can also host relays and other services, paid with bitcoin lightning ⚡
