Have disabled relay.nostr.band global feed. Will see what global feed looks like now with that relay omitted as seems most of nossence content was coming from there. This obviously means other content may not be visible that might have been interesting.

Is that by repeatedly publishing the same content? I'm not sure if that is what I'm seeing and why that then makes it seem like spam.

Due to it feeling like spam it leads to me simply bypassing anything posted by nossence and concluding that any content posted by it is junk to be avoided and not trusted and explored.

Seems to function like spam in the global feed. Every instance has a different public key it seems so blocking it is a problem. I detest it.

It turns out that, using my earlier screenshot as an example, if you long-press on each of the icons (one at a time, from left to right, for each relay) that a notice pops up at the bottom telling us what each one is. For example, click-and-hold on the icon that looks like a bird-house and a message pops up saying "Home Feed"; the same on the envelope icon displays " Private Message Feed"; and, so on. Do that across each of the icons and you at least get their names.

As to expected behaviour when each of the feeds is switched on and off I don't get what I would necessarily expect. For example, if I delete all relays apart from one and switch off the Global Feed and Search Feed switches for the remaining relay I can end up with the Global Feed full of posts and seem to be able to search also, which is not what I would expect. Clearly, still subtleties to come to understand.

I was looking at Relai this morning and see that they offer one fee-free transaction per month so seems a nice way to get started and get a feel for the process. I'll look into that in more detail.

I've looked at another P2P option called Robosats which looks good but, as you suggest with Peach, some of the premiums create a bit too much friction to actually proceed. Plus, some sats are needed to initiate a transaction so there's a slight catch-22 there also. Relai looks like a nice option to break that catch-22 if I do want to use Robosats at some point.

Likewise, I've had a look at Bisq but my laptop is old and it doesn't want to run successfully on it.

Brilliant. Hadn't heard of either and trying to find out about as many on-ramps as possible. Thanks.

Where do you get your sats from for your left over fiat? CEXs or DEXs?

Can anyone explain or direct me to information on the effect of toggling each of the switches under each of the relays listed within Amethyst (screenshot attached)?

I've searched the web, GitHub, and YouTube so far but I am not really getting anywhere.

I see that if I toggle everything off for all relays and then switch the globe and the down arrow on for one of the relays that this then populates my client feed (I assume from the relay that was toggled on). I also assume that the up arrow controls whether I write to the associated relay when I post. Other than that I'm at somewhat of a loss.
