Well I can help you if you have questions. But running large local LLMs still won't be able to achieve what Large Language Models at data enters can deliver. nostr:npub1utx00neqgqln72j22kej3ux7803c2k986henvvha4thuwfkper4s7r50e8 has more experience building a rig specifically for this with 3 2070s if I remember right. He may have something to say on how well that can realistically perform.

2070s might be for sale soon. Along with my the rest of Marvin's old guts. Z97 board 32gb ddr3 , i7 4790k. Still a respectable build. Better specs than Pipboy for sure.

I just got a 3060ti to replace the 2070super in Marvin as well.

My main rig ( #gaming , #coding , video editing) shall be hence forth named Marvin, after the Robot in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Deep thought was a close second but it's two words....

My Windows server is finally moving from Marvin to Pipboy.

Yea... It's kind of annoying to have a shit load of lists that do the same thing. I'm okay with a client making a new list for something unique but mute and block etc should be defined...

Price going up too? I think the current rate is pretty reasonable for a nice performant relay.

When you want to cache info for supper fast retrieval. So say I make a nostr web client and use Garnet to store current user session actions in memory. So when the user goes to do anything they've already done in the app during that session, it's basically instant retrieval from a cache in memory.

It is an interesting time for open source in memory databases. #dev #database My bet is on either Dragonfly or Garnet

Is there a public relay that JUST handles follow lists? Like how purplepag.es handles profiles? I can't believe we don't have a good solution for fetching all your followers across nostr every time you look. I know it's because the client has to fetch all follow lists and check them to see if your pubkey is in their list. There should be a relay indexing this stuff. Probably worth a few sats a month.

Damn... This is the one I actually have experience with too... But I wanted to branch out and use something a little more feature rich with a bigger community. Will consider sqlite still though. Thank for your response!

Alright nostr devs. If you were making a relay implementation, would you go with MongoDB or Postgress and why? #asknostr #dev #go #database #mongoDB #postgress
