I've seen a lot of republican media really celebrating this, but I really question whether the phenomenon is what they make it out to be. Its seems to me that it is unlikely that republican leaning media outlets picked up much, if any, of the msnbc/cnn viewer base. It seems more likely that FOX et al have remained stable in viewership and that democratic network consumers turned off their tvs to avoid hearing about Trump. It's not like they converted, they're just not watching tv. You better be careful, because they might use the time they used to waste watching the news to be productive while you watch the news telling you the news is the other news purveyors have less people tuning into their news. Good news? https://youtu.be/zP2v98UnkFM?si=ZZNwqzj9CXfgFANH turn off your TV. Touch grass. See the sun. Do stuff that matters. Build stuff. Turn off your TV.

Unless it's the My Heart to Fear album. That's got a few bangers on it.
One of my favorite things is rolling up to bury a fiber drop to someone's house and seeing that the other utility companies didn't bother to locate their lines. Then I get to spend close to an hour scouting for where utilities are so I can hook on and verify I won't, you know, cut through those companies' power or communication lines. #fiatmine #grumbling #it'salmost5
I know, I know, I'm late to the party. But chatgpt is mad fun as a research and virtual assistant. #grownostr #plantresearch
Great praise from @Jack Spirko of The Survival Podcast, his description of "If You Want to Keep Some Chickens" is exactly what I wanted the book to be. "Getting kids involved early is a great way to help them become well rounded and self sufficient adults... it is a short book, all children’s books are, it does a good job of covering all the basics, not so much exactly what to do but how to think about it. So if you are getting chickens and want the kids involved it will help with talking to them about their responsibilities and what the birds will need." Honestly, probably the most gratifying and humbling thing that has happened with this book release has been the encouragement I've received from people I look up to. Joel Salatin wrote me a very kind note, Jack Spirko wrote this great review, a gentleman named Rory Groves (his book "Durable Trades" is fantastic) offered to do a write up about my book in his quarterly newsletter. It's kinda surreal.

Slow day at the fiat mine, so I may have done the graphics and copy for 2 Kidsteaders posts and I also may have finished the 1st draft of book 2. I need to come up with a catchy title, start illustrating and have a few other folks proofread it. I'm pretty happy with the day though.
Something went boom?
I try to do 20-30 minutes of exercise and mobility work every morning. I usually get to it 5 days a week. Weekends are easy to neglect
And yet: The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil. For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian. For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

And: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him... But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God...
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
