I'm not here on Nostr because I run away from Twitter. I'm here because I'm in search for an internet as it once used to be.

I'm a hacker who fucking hates that social media is in the hands of private companies. I remember using IRC and meeting likeminded anons online. I remember what the internet utopia felt like. People who didn't care what your name or status is, people who aren't interested in sharing their boring holiday pics with random strangers online. I'm not interested in what politicians and influencers have to say. I don't care about the latest mainstream trend that's going viral.

I want random weird interesting smart people around me who share their ideas in a free and open space that isn't controlled by anyone.

That's all I'm looking for. There aren't many such spaces on the internet.

From my experience, the high achieving educated white collar people think they are too smart for Bitcoin, because they fall prey to the idea of economy management. They know they are more educated and have a higher IQ than the average, and believe people like them can manage money better than the free market on its own.

It's literally the bell curve meme.

I see it like this:

What is our purpose or objective?

We want bitcoin to be the world’s money because when the world adopts a hard money, there will be fewer wars, no inflation stealing people’s retirements, and more long-term thinking.

Yes, runes and ordinals create demand for block space, but does that help us further our goal?

What are the pros?

The extra money paid to miners does incentivize more investment in mining and increase the network hashrate. In theory this provides more security to the network.

What are the cons?

It seems these fees are encouraging mining pool centralization through back channel payments (“MEVil”).

Higher fees are preventing people around the world from using bitcoin as money. Transactions for lower value amounts will be delayed or won’t be feasible.

My conclusion

I view these “innovations” as a net negative because I don’t believe these new protocols increase bitcoin’s use as money and I don’t see the benefit to growing the hashrate artificially.

I am an ancient one, but I also got into computers early. I remember installing sound blaster sound card and going into ultima 8 with sound for the first time and adjusting my extended memory to get it to run. It was mind bending. I felt like a master of the universe.

That's the AI module. It comes with every human brain. It does large language model pattern matching over all stored data to pull out what you need, popping up a notification for your mind after seconds, minutes, days. It also does projections of current trends, which your mind can review during downtime. For many people, this is fully immersive, multi-sensory, 3D. It does all this without the need for a surgical implant.

There are rumors that there is a networking function as well - but this has to my knowledge never been confirmed in a repeatable experiment. However, there are many anecdotal confirmations. E.g. My mother woke up from a sound sleep one night yelling, "Daddie's dead!" We all came running. We called her parents and grandma answered. Grampa had died when she woke up. He had died suddenly after the doctor gave him a shot of penicillin for a bacterial pneumonia. He was apparently fatally allergic to the anti-biotic. My personal theory is that the "networking" is not physical but happens via the spiritual component of humans.

Note2 - anyone that thinks the electronic AI that is touted today is in any way "intelligent" (literally, "choosing between") is ... uninformed, misled, ignorant, something like that.

I know where you’re coming from, and I agree that there is an entitlement issue in some situations. But I think something else is also going on here. I think a new thing is trying to be born that is much larger than we think it is, and could have ramifications way beyond software… into the building of physical infrastructure and diminishment of government
