This is not a drill: don’t just buy bitcoin with fiat, get paid in it!
Trying my best to give it a positive twist: the more subsidies they give, the sooner it all crashes down.
But yeah, even more convinced to stay out of the system seeing these things, more is contributed to society by not paying taxes than by paying for subsidies for altcoin trading platforms.
The beauty of opensource: published on Saturday evening and two days later seeing it’s already being used by another anon in his project. Get in touch if that’s you 🫱🏻🫲🏼 will be happy to learn what you are building and what other nips you’d need. nostr:note1le4pss2jewdjwfcrz5wz4lz4vxssd8h8h5w263gxe09yh5ldxv8ql38z8z
Published the first packages of Dartstr yesterday:
- nip01: https://pub.dev/packages/nip01
- nip04: https://pub.dev/packages/nip04
- nip06: https://pub.dev/packages/nip06
- nip19: https://pub.dev/packages/nip19
- nip24: https://pub.dev/packages/nip24
- nip47: https://pub.dev/packages/nip47
Dart & Flutter developers can now easily start integrating Nostr in their apps.
More NIPS coming soon.
Happy building!
I will be continuing to work on a push notification system and libraries for Nostr Wallet Connect to make it better on mobile wallets. So anyone who’s interested in that can help, but everyone can also just work on its own projects and share what they are working on to find some synergies. And for people that do not have an own bitcoin project yet, but would like to do something, we have a list of ideas that could be useful opensource contributions.
nostr:npub1k00lff0ahjv4d2kwuwxy040d2282yjmzj6eeu5ghav054s4yrfzsplyc86 and I decided to get out of our coding caves again and hack on Bitcoin projects together with a nice coffee.

Only a good idea if the original is also preserved and always shown, only showing the translation automatically would be detrimental for language development. Something that is really needed in for example LatAm, where all English movies and series are dubbed, which led to very few people speaking English well, which takes away international and better paid opportunities.
If original text is preserved and shown first, the automatic translation underneath can be a good idea.
And yeah, dubbed movies to learn spanish can be useful, but not for the spanish speaking who do not know English 😅
As Bitcoiners we should be about empowering and helping people to learn another language, not pampering them with automatic translations. Pampering is what bad governments do to control people.
Automatically translating is as dumb as dubbing English movies and series. Something which has set back a lot of people in Latin America. I am sure if not all the movies and series on tv where dubbed there, people would all speak English already and had more international job opportunities. So at first sight, automatically translating looks like a good idea, but the long term effects are detrimental.
Exactly, automatically translating everything is as dumb as dubbing movies and series instead of just putting subtitles. This is a reason why a lot of people in Latin America do not speak English, which sets them back on the international job market and makes them unable to progress. While in countries who do not dub English movies or series, people just learn English without any effort from a young age.
I think a lot of nuance will be lost, also having to translate it yourself helps learning the new language, which we should support, because not knowing another language is what holds a lot of people back in developing countries. Automatically translating is pampering the people but not for their good in the long term. Translating can be embedded and done by clicking a translate button as on other social media already. This way people at least also read the original language still, otherwise they will not get into contact anymore with foreign languages, which is bad for their development.
Yeah, thanks for your comment, we are thinking about metaphors to educate about Bitcoin and came up with the idea that a Lightning node is like a teleportation capsule for bitcoin.
…I have been closing some smaller capacity channels and opening fewer but bigger capacity channels. This is probably the reason, but I just wanted to hear from you guys that Lightning is greatly improving and becoming more and more ready for massive adoption 🚀⚡💪😄
When I started running my own LN node I had a lot of problems with even payments of just 100k sats regularly failing. I could only make very small payments and that while having more than enough outbound liquidity. This was still the case until some weeks ago. Curiously, I now have less channels and liquidity, but since a week or two I have been sending various bigger payments and they are all successful on the first try, haven’t had any failure and with considerably bigger amounts. Anyone else had this experience lately and is it the network becoming better with more reliable nodes and liquidity? Or did I just made some better peer/channel/liquidity choices that worked well for the payments I have been making?
Hoy a las 5pm (hora Colombia) tendremos un meetup virtual donde hablaremos sobre privacidad en Bitcoin. Conectanse aqui: https://meet.jit.si/moderated/239532522d74095ebd2872e650e56238c69cc9d4729232c556a4fc63dc6cee51
