As a long time user and developer of a Nostr client, coming back to improve my Blockcore Notes app, I'm coming to the realization that Nostr is not what it used to be. The complexity of the protocol has just gone utterly too far for any reasonable team of developers to implement it.
That comes on top of the real issue, which is figuring out how to make Nostr reach global scaling.
I wrote my thoughts on Scaling Nostr here:
So true! We are a minority, though we should not let that hinder us i carving out our place on this planet.
Working on upgrading Blockcore Notes with latest dependencies. Looking good so far, big amount of effort. Now that this nostr client is up-to-date, new features will be added going forward.
Sounds horrible, sorry you had to go through this. Anyone who thinks others are worse than them, should rather just focus on building or doing something better and show off in a real and tangible manner. Good luck!
I'm so happy and grateful that nostr exists. π
Hi friends! I'm working on a badge issuance service and just had a look around on the various nostr apps and couldn't find any that does badges? Is there any anymore? Badges are partially implemented on Blockcore Notes, but where else is it? What web clients are good these days?
I did it a while back, it's still pretty nice to use and it is my primary desktop client for Nostr. It's a bit different than other clients, focused on different features. I have not been updating it much recently, maybe I will again one day.
First day unemployed. Did some coding on Ariton, which I actually do all the time. Been a bit here on Nostr, some good content. I'll probably do some improvements to Blockcore Notes, it's not because I built it I love it, it is actually a very good nostr client.
As long as the data that is made is independent of a domain, itβs not centralised and can flow and be accessible anywhere. When data is only accessible from single point, it is centralised. Web5 DWNs can also be considered βcentralisedβ if everyone use a single central cloud provider, but both protocols support any number of relays/DWNs pr user.
There is no chance that Nostr and DWN is going the way of Telegram/Samorai.
Setup my new zaps address with npub.cash π Looks like a good alternative now that lntips went away.
Hopefully getting my new motorcycle next week β€οΈ
I just recently resigned to work on my dream app. I have built various open source software on my spare time, like Blockcore Notes (#nostr) client, which I still love to use, and the Blockcore Wallet, which is a Nostr extension, #Web3 extension and #Web5 extension.
This new app I'm building is called #Ariton and it will combine all my knowledge and experience into a SuperApp that will empower users to collaborate and contribute with their data is a lot more meaningful manner than previously possible.
Hi! A feature suggestion: Stop requesting the public key from the extension all the time, just cache it. The Blockcore Wallet reports whenever the key is used and it could probably be optimized by not requesting this much.
Is there anyone that needs another software developer related to #Bitcoin, #Nostr, #Web3, #Web5, #blockchain or similar areas? I have a lot of experience with software development. #bitcoinerjobs

Getting a bunch of zaps yesterday and today, thanks everyone β€οΈ
Not been active here recently, been working on Blockcore Atomic Swaps and improvements to the Blockcore Wallet (extension). Also doing a lot of renovations and living life. I'll be back someday soon.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get it added.
Interesting idea, did you have something in mind already?
Very good stuff! Will implement support for this on some web apps π€
