Makoto Shinkai's #GardenOfWords :

My absolute favorite of Makoto's productions. I'm not sure if I have any experiential connection to it, but it's a gut punch to my feels. Every. Damn. Time. It contains so much "juuust stuff" I don't know where to begin. The poetry, both conversant and blatant insertions, of tanka and haiku...well... it's poignant and stunning. Then to talk about the artwork, then to talk about the audio. #anime #hundredpiecesofart One through Ten. 😉

Snow's silence pervades -

Circling my mind,

Ice tendrils complete with thorns

Binding my heart and soul,

Lonely and peaceful,

Still and anasthetic,

Rejuvenating rest.

The scene shatters,

Stifling heat radiates through,

From summer's cruel eye,

The abusive heat stare

Of afternoon sun, asphyxiating.

Winter's brilliant dream

Shimmering and evaporating,

As the last wisps of crystals

Travel heavenward,

Lost to fragmented

Memory.

Maybe they'll make a comeback. That would be interesting. It doesn't seem to run in the British consciousness much though. Hopefully a couple could weigh in on that. #hockey
