Right now, there are three of us ready to get this off the ground. I’m looking for two more founder-members to bring us up to five. With that core, we’ll have the resources to make a PeerTube server not just viable, but sustainable—and built to last.
This isn’t about joining someone else’s platform. It’s about creating one. As a founder, you’ll have a real voice in governance and a direct hand in shaping content policies, by-laws, moderation rules, and more.
We’re staying early stage by design. This is the moment to get in, shape the vision, and build something that actually challenges the status quo. If that excites you, message me.
#Mastodon plans to add the display of quote posts with Mastodon 4.4, and then to support authoring with Mastodon 4.5.
I hope the dev team has the courage to follow through with this plan because, amongst some Mastodon users (but not most), this will be the worst thing ever—despite Mastodon clients supporting quote posts, and software like Akkoma, Sharkey, and Friendica doing the same.
Ultimately, quote posts are a must. More people want them than don’t.

I love Sheryl Crow. She has a great voice, writes her own songs, and produces them too. Not only that, she rocks.
Case in point, “Soak Up the Sun”. That was a summer jam. I remember hearing it during a hot July while in a 7-Eleven pouring myself a slurpee. Good times.
But the mastering is brutal. The dynamic range is squelched. Hearing this is like hearing a band in a metal coffee tin.
Someday, I hope this album gets remastered.

In all seriousness, it is a bad look to blame war and violence on video games. It is equally problematic to imply that people who enjoy FPS games are intrinsically violent people.
I am playing a futuristic submarine game. Believe me, I am very unlikely to hijack a submarine and start torpedoing everything that moves.
Also, why are you implying that women don’t enjoy shooting games. My 10-year-old daughter loves Splatoon and Fortnite, and she would be quite offended if you told her those games are not for her.

I’ve been running every day for the past two weeks, at minimum four minutes each time. Here’s something I noticed.
When I first started, my heart would instantly hit 150bpm. But now it takes me a full minute just to reach 120bpm.
Also, mornings are great for running.

She has the largest verified collection of gaming consoles in the world. Most of them are LCD handhelds from the 1970s and 80s.

Just stumbled upon the art of the Ife Empire which was a Yoruba kingdom in what is now Nigeria and Benin in Africa.This kingdom lasted between 1200 to 1420.
And I’m stunned.
This is beautiful, breath-taking work that’s highly sophisticated – technically better than what was being made in Europe at the time.
Just look at this copper Ife statue. It’s as good as the Venus de Milo. The detail is incredible.
I need to learn more about this.

Well, I’m annoyed. I bought a game on Fanatical only to discover it was activated by another Steam account already.

I’m really tempted to make a #Fediverse RPG based on the RPGMaker engine. Here’s what I got so far…
Main Characters:
Tooto: A young warrior from Mastodon Island. Specializes in quick attacks.
Pixela: A mage from PixelFed. Has the ability to manipulate images and illusions.
Peery: A bard from PeerTube. Uses video and sound-based attacks.
Ephemra: A rogue from Pleroma. Specializes in stealth and surprise attacks.
Plot:
The game begins with the player in Mastodon Island where they learn about the threats posed by the Centralized Empire. They meet Tooto and decide to join forces. The player travels from island to island, gathering allies and learning more about the impending threat.
I’m still trying to consider the enemies, quests, game mechanics.
This could be a fun way for people to learn about the Fediverse.

What matters more is running Windows apps on any Linux box.
It’s too bad Gabe Newell isn’t in this Xbox documentary. He used to work at Microsoft and was actually critical to its early development.
But maybe Microsoft doesn’t like that Valve has become the biggest proponent of PC gaming, outshining Microsoft.
Until recently, I didn’t even know Path of Exile existed. But apparently, this is an incredibly popular game with over 1 million active players.
For something so popular, it’s odd that it never gets a mention in popular culture – at all.
From what I can tell, the only good 4K 16:10 monitor is the Dell UltraSharp U3023E. But it is 30”. That’s much too big for my uses.
Once you get a 16:10 monitor, it’s really hard to go back to 16:9.
This is the main reason I don’t have a 4K display.
