Yeah I’m not sure “client-agnostic” is the right term, but what I mean to say is it’d be cool to be able to “pin” a certain note at the top of my profile so that no matter what client someone is using, when they go to my profile they see my pinned note at the top. Just like they see my profile pic and bio across clients.

I mean I guess I could accomplish something similar in the meantime by putting links in my profile, but having that kind of personal-virtual-billboard space is nice for people who want to highlight a particular note for new followers without just reposting it every day.

Ok so let’s say I created a “pinned notes list” in a client that supports it - are you saying my pinned notes would only appear to others at the top of my profile if someone visited my profile from a client that supports nip51? Ideally this kind of feature would be client agnostic I would think. 🤔

I traded post-Musk Twitter for TikTok for some of the same reasons I was drawn to pre-2017 Twitter in the first place: easy to see what is going on in the world right now (trending), very effective search functionality, able to share even with friends off the platform.

When we can up the searchability and shareability antes then we will increase viral potential and attract more creators and consumers.

People use TikTok because it’s brilliantly designed with amazing features, not because they don’t also care about freedom. They made their way to TikTok because up until about a year ago, TikTok was the only big social platform where they could reliably find trending topics — aka information situated in time — and it was the only platform where normal people could go viral. That is why I keep saying the most important thing about getting Nostr to really take off will be the combo of searchability and shareability. We already situate ourselves in time / chronology.

I think being able to share and search easily to people outside of the nostrverse is gonna be a big big deal. We used to be able to see everyone’s tweets on Google search. That made it really accessible for outreach.
