On a sound money standard, capital is allocated more efficiently, innovation accelerates, and the abundance created by technological progress and productivity gains flow to all users of the monetary network as the purchasing power of each currency unit increases over time instead of being sucked away by those who control the “money printer”.
As Jeff Booth frequently notes “the natural state of a free market is deflation”, and thus the prices of goods and services should fall over time rather than increase.

Every time the government creates new currency units, your share of the total value stored on their monetary network is reduced. But with Bitcoin’s fixed supply, if you own 1 BTC, you own 1/21M of the pie, forever.

Bitcoin is more than “digital gold”. It’s a fitting comparison in some respects, but BTC has many more possible applications due to its digital nature. Saylor calls it “digital capital” on which the new financial system is being built, or “digital energy” when speaking in more of a physics/engineering frame. Major Jason Lowery of the US Space Force calls it “digital power”, or a novel power projection technology for establishing the chain of custody of scarce resources in cyberspace.
Just like how electricity channelled through a light bulb replaced the candle for lighting a home, electricity itself had a number of other significant applications.
Bitcoin and its applications are already replacing a variety of tools for moving value through time and space, and many of these applications are in their relative infancy.
Over time we will continue see more and more creative and helpful ways to use digital capital/energy/power that onboard more users to the BTC network.
What if no one controlled our monetary protocol?
History shows us why we shouldn’t leave centralized control of money in the hands of the government, and our founding fathers left us dire warnings about the dangers of a central bank.
A nation is merely the sum of the individuals it contains. I went to DC to speak to political leaders about Bitcoin to help them understand why centralized control of money should be cast away, for the good of Americans as well as the good of the world.
I believe we have a duty to engage in politics where it is helpful to build a better world for our families, our local communities, and our nation as a whole. And Bitcoiners have gained so much ground already. To those who choose to stay engaged, keep up the good fight
