But how do you solve the cold start issue? If all I have is a pubkey, how do I find the corresponding ip?
Ppl are going to hate this, but if you want a censorship resistant means of mapping ipâs to pubkeys or vanity names, I can tell think of a distributed ledger that can handle thatâŚ

Check out what nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft has been doing with highlighter
Anyone else use farcaster? I donât much but want to use it a bit more to understand what the tech and user community are doing.
Iâm https://www.farcaster.id/Rabble on farcaster.
Their frames thing seems nifty and would be useful in Nostr.
Iâve played around with it a bit and considered displaying farcaster posts in a nostr client. May be fun to try
Chris Dixon sounding the alarm on closed protocols and the harm to the open internet, was not on my bingo cards https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/tetragrammaton-with-rick-rubin/id1671669052
Chris Dixon on Tim Ferris "No crypto company has ever spent a dollar on marketing, including Coinbase, I was on the board for years, no marketing" - Oct 2021 https://youtu.be/DlNDYMNJ5zQ?si=Wth1nd9WiZ-U8HYp&t=26m
I try to give Dixon a chance. But sometime the shit he says is just too retarded. When he was in Tim Ferris in 2021, peak crypto bull, he said âNo crypto company has ever spent any money of marketingâ with a straight face
It would be very cool to build this on top of nostr. And it could be a fantastic way to onboard a bunch of new users
I heard some Vc guys talking about something similar a few weeks back. It would be a group chat app where periodically all identities are randomized. That way you would still have âtrustedâ groups where you know everyone in it, but, you donât know the identity of any individual sending a message. The hope is that this would allow for a more free discussion of ideas without opening the door to a bunch of spam and trolls.
Iâm redoing the highlighter layout, thatâs why it still feels a bit off, butâŚ
Cc nostr:npub149p5act9a5qm9p47elp8w8h3wpwn2d7s2xecw2ygnrxqp4wgsklq9g722q (yes, the bottom row is going out as soon as I have all the features implemented)
Why are you removing the bottom nav?
Jack Conte has some great takes. I think watching some of the keynotes heâs done over the past few years are super insightful when working on Nostr projects
Please elaborate
nostr:npub1rdw87tu23al8afmhtpul6qksnrdka3vgz9zjrudpah7v6c6url5s82qyr4 thatâs a really good question. It got me thinking and I started writing⌠It became much more of a essay about nostr and blueskyâs growth over the last yearâŚ
So here it is: nostr:note19f0dqr8g5sq8g9yh5lvd66cxddhydz2gakvs5qqdnv6ekynpz4gqq89dnj
And if your client doesnât display long form content: https://njump.me/note19f0dqr8g5sq8g9yh5lvd66cxddhydz2gakvs5qqdnv6ekynpz4gqq89dnj
Wow, thanks for the detailed response!
Blueskyâs letting you post gifs⌠well not actually post gifs, just choose to embed a few gifs from a preselected list, but soon they say theyâll figure out media uploads.

When I see stuff like this I realize that there are so many ways in which Nostr is far ahead of the other protocols. In others weâve got work todo, but, for all itâs faults Nostr has the most interesting ecosystem.
Why do you think blue sky has been able to acquire so many more users than nostr? What do you think are the main UX wins when using Bluesky vs nostr atm?
As long as your eating >1g protein per lb of body weight and youâre in a caloric surplus youâll put on muscle. In my experience though my energy levels in the gym are just much less when eating low carb.
IMO, intensity during workouts is one of the most important factors that ppl overlook
wild how easily it was to implement a regular microblogging client into nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x this morning

Youâre calling them âTweetsâ! đł
I at least give farcaster some credit in that dwr is fairly transparent about farcasterâs lack of decentralization
