Time for holiday again, this time in Switzerland!

You're kind of thinking in the right direction! We were watching Monika Hrastnik taking 3rd place in Val di Sole world cup race - only 1.881s off the winning pace!

I say you were close enough with your answer :)

Anyone cares to guess what our whole team was watching in the middle of the ascent?

Correct answer gets you 1881sat!

I've seen the word used for a type of haircut, and I think there's a fish (checking wikipedia, there are quite a few different fish called that) but nothing that would explain its use for bikes. None of the other mullets in the wikipedia disambiguation seems related (and the bike use isn't there).

Yeah it's a reference to that haircut style. I remember it was quite popular in europe years ago (decades actually), dunno if it was in the us.

I'm glad you found a bike for your needs!

And to comment on why the phrase "mullet" stuck: bigger front wheel rolls nicer over bumps and is better at keeping speed (business in the front ~ fast), with a smaller rear wheel the bike is better at leaning into corners and skids easier (party at the back ~ fun).

These days it's used mostly on downhill race bikes.

If the weather cooperated, we could see the coastline in the distance from the top. Next year maybe...

And a lot of racing in between. If you care to stop along the way, there's plenty to see:
