The request of the Irish Minister of Justice is a clear indication that Helen McEntee does't give "fuck amhain" about the Irish peoples constitutional right to privacy.

There is a massive incentive for governments to create an "online boogeyman" in order to justify censorship and expand regulation of the Internet. I believe that is the primary goal of this advertisement.

Haven't seen it yet. I immediately think of predictive programming when I think of Black Mirror. The idea of presenting a technology to the public on television so that it doesnt seem unfamiliar when it happens.

The online harms bill in the UK for example is using the existence of child pornography to ban encryption online.

It's disturbing. I can't help but feel it's using a fear message to achieve some end. I'm hyper-cynical.
