I do feel a bit saddened as I believe this was a great opportunity that was missed, but these things are bound to happen like this when we don't have a centralized marketing team pushing for user growth. We'll keep building and eventually Nostr won't be able to be ignored.

I really don't get the people that complain that they don't get followers on Nostr because there is no algorithm.

I never got any followers in any of these platforms with algorithms (even though I used them actively for years), except when by some unexplicable hit of luck some people started using @lntxbot on Telegram and by word-of-mouth it got to Alex Bosworth and he mentioned it on tweet and then my follower count slowly grew from 50 to like 5000 over a 3-year period.

Is there a magic trick that allows you to go from 0 to 100000 by gaming the algorithm these days and then scam your followers a high-ticket course about how to get followers and become a millionaire? Or what are these people talking about? Why do they even want followers in the first place?

Well, it's mostly been enjoyable. It's easy, and that's key for a heavy person like me.

Being smart is easy. Being kind and patient is hard.

Nostr is about replying. Engaging in conversations. Building your social graph. There is no algo to spoon feed you. Effort is rewarded.

I think I've broken through a plateau with my weight. I'm finally trending downward again, currently at just under 254lbs (~115kg) and getting closer to my goal weight of 225lbs. I may have to revise that goal. Hitting 225 so be - 100. Which I wasn't every expecting to hit. But... Now it seems inevitable.

I've also been enjoying strike. The only thing I wish it did was automatically pull funds from my linked first account. Cashapp does this and it's a much easier "set and forget" system. Having to transfer in fiat manually is... Blah. But I did buy the dip. Twice.

I also bought some stationary as I still be actually writing a letter. How bizarre is that?

Weird things are afoot!
