Everyone can opt out once the system reaches some minimum viable product that can be easily adopted. It's why people are building tools/markets/communities to make it accessible worldwide. You can opt out, now, but it takes a lot of work.

The idea that world improvement for everyone has to come from the top down is something that needs to be unlearned.

I think the general cypherpunk/crypto-anarchist idea is not to replace the current system, but to create a parallel system in which you have the ability to opt out of the current system. Or, at least, insulate yourself from it on some meaningful level. Bitcoin is seen as a way to do that.

I think it's a natural reaction. The horror of it is unimaginable in a civilized society.

If someone attempted to murder a child in front of you, you'd legally be justified in defending the child by deadly force and you'd be publicly criticized if you didn't act. That juxtaposed with the encouragement and even celebration of these legal murders highlights an injustice of the highest level.

ln most situations where common sense and decency are inverted on a large scale and humans are dehumanized by everday people, I have to remind myself that there are institutions and forces working behind the scenes to execute their agenda. That they work to control us through fear, propaganda, and manipulation to act in ways rational, informed people would not. And, that some of us are more resistant to their tactics and others are not.

In this case, the eugenicists of the 1960s, that fear mongered the population crisis, never went away; they just rebranded. Decades of radical, feminist propaganda has taken root across generations of people, normalizing the killing of innocents. Now, the eugenicists are getting more bold, again. You can find modern experts and scientists proposing population reductions up to 75% to fight global warming. The Candian gov't is promoting gov't assisted suicide to reduce the burden on their nationalized healthcare system.

But, these propagandized are victims. No matter how much mental gymnastics they have to perform in order to reconcile the lies they are told, there is no escaping the consequences that killing your innocent child has on the human psyche.

Those of us who recognize the propaganda can help other do the same. It just takes one thing that can't be ignored to lift the veil. The vaccine mandate and lockdowns did this for a lot of people. Once you are aware the matrix exists, you start seeing it everywhere.

Seems like a good option over not having access to a real firearm, e.g., ownership is illegal. Bear mace or pepper spray could be a nightmare indoors.

From US gov't statistics, the average number of actual firearm rounds (that hit) to incapacitate an assailant is 2.5. It's 12 when you take into accouny the average number of misses.

It would be hard to believe that any non-lethal, kinetic round could be equivalent, as you are just causing pain and disorientation. The chemical rounds (pepper spray?) would be a multiplier, but the issue is you don't have anywhere else to go if it isn't enough. You can't escalate, if needed.

A non-lethal option is also the deterrant of simply displaying that you have a firearm and firing a warning shot, if needed.

That being said, just about anything is better than nothing, if it is reliable.
