i think it’s just naturally part of the way some people speak. like where i’m from, here in southern california, many of us curse a lot & use “insulting” words _casually_, if that makes sense. pretty sure many like in new york or england do the same.

truthfulness, honesty, being earnest, trying to course correct misguided ideas or unsound thinking…etc.
