Yes, property tax is equally immoral. You don't own your land if you have to pay the government rent for it every year.
Signal is absolutely worse than NIP-17 in regards to metadata. However, NIP-17 lacks proper forward secrecy, so it's not ideal either. I'm not sure if we can make blanket statements about what's better for everyone, regardless of use cases and risks.
Also, you have too much fiat, you LARPer.
"Spain has arrested one of its top police officers after €20m (£17m) was found hidden in the walls of his house, as part of an investigation into the country’s largest-ever cocaine bust.
Óscar Sánchez Gil was until recently the head of the fraud and anti-money laundering division of Spain’s national police force in Madrid."
On a scale of 1 to 10, I think that would be a solid 11.
Zapped it, and it worked.
The 8110 4G seems to be almost entirely sold out in Europe. Only one I can find right now is ~300 EUR. :/
There's a warning about that on top of the page. Everyone should decide for themselves what risks they want to take.
This might be interesting to some people: https://wiki.lunardao.net/bananahack.html
(I've been thinking about migrating many times. But I guess the vanity of it still being one of the oldest nodes is strong. 😅)
We ran both lightningd and lnd in the beginning. But when we had to move to new hardware after a couple of years, there was a weird edge case bug with c-lightning that prevented us from moving its database to a new box, so now we're left with just the lnd. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"It’s a worrisome move brought about due to an overzealous tax regime that has caused taxes to make up 60-70% of the price of phones sold in Kenya." — nostr:npub1q0al05h2uvtj0fp8ww7etl0pdjnkum638ynz9tmku3e522fyvlmqjq04mt
I remember a few of those names, but rompert was definitely an OG node.
What's the query for this? I get very different results here: https://1ml.com/node?order=oldest&active=true
Those aren't even in order. Nice programming. 😂
Me and felix weis still holding down the top 2 oldest nodes still running on the lightning network 😎

How do you search for that? I can't figure it out.
How so? Is there voting for merging NIPs or something, and does every dev have a vote?
AFAICS it's as close to pure anarchism as you can get.
My old ThinkPad has been running pretty well as a full node with Electrum server etc. since I set it up. The only thing I haven't gotten to work yet is automatic boot unlocking with Tang and Clevis (which works fine with our rack servers in a private location). It's one of those things that are so tedious to debug and fix, that I hardly ever find the motivation for it.
We do have extended power cuts on this island at least once or twice a year, and sometimes they're too long for the UPS to keep everything running. But it's also nice to be able to reboot remotely for kernel upgrades and whatnot.
"By" as in "before", or "within"? I might propose it to them, because they do accept suggestions for new markets.
Trump believers, make you some extra money:

And the rest of the nation state maxis can also put their (fiat) money where their mouth is:

FYI, easiest way to top up on Polymarket from bitcoin is via Lightning payment to FixedFloat (exchange to USDC on Polygon). And when you want to send back your winnings, create a 0-amount invoice and use that to exchange back to bitcoin on FF.
