Yeah. Can be pinned down, but then not in as optimal of a position.
Usually disconnected on these trips, but sometimes you have to be on a call. This setup works very well. Anywhere.

Morning espresso with a view over the rift valley.

Cold morning at 8,000 feet. But we’re dry and have food.

Some days start hot, dry, and dusty.
Then end cold, wet, and muddy.

Deep in Kenya’s inhospitable northern desert, camels and goats are about the only animals people keep.
But did see an albino topi today!
Made our way to the southern part of Lake Turkana.

This “Imagine If” event that nostr:npub1atn7mlwt08erz4ap47gef92xfey65a4z9ed9vec53u5kc9v94pusl6h4x3 has created is something special.

A fun morning out at the Nairobi Marathon (10km this year).

Testing the first Bitaxe made in Kenya, from the PCB up!
It’s working. Big thanks to all the guys who made it happen from the community - Simon, Diviter, Kurt, and Gearbox
We call it “Bitshoka”, which is just Bitaxe in Swahili. :)

One of my takeaways from Bitcoiners working on energy-related projects in the EU is that they seem bound and hamstrung by rules and bureaucracy. Seems harder than it should be.
It’s like a full-time job in paperwork with a bit of mining on the side.
The people at the European Bitcoin Energy Association (EBEA) are doing great work, and when they finally break through there will be a massive growth in decentralized hashing for heat+BTC in Europe.
Portugal 🇵🇹 for a couple days.
Then to the UK 🇬🇧.
Will be in Portugal next week. Good energy conversations incoming.

Discussing whether small scale energy + bitcoin mining can support conservation.

Some day we’ll be in TZ!
Useful when you have a river with lower head. You choose your turbine based on the river.
Biomass bitcoin mining site in Kenya.
It’s a finicky source compared to the simplicity of hydroelectric.

Lifeblood of the land. Above Kenya.

Thanks, and have a good trip later this year.
It is. We were lucky to have it visible all morning.
This was in Amboseli, Kenya.
Safari shots to finish the weekend.

Seems legit.
You gotta get to the bush for a bit just to relax if you live in Africa.
Pace is different.
Hadn’t heard of Tollgate yet, but sounds very inter. Will get to Googling. Used to do a lot with OpenWRT.
