A respite from the heat.

Lately I've been working half naked as the heat gets unbearable. I don't really like Cloudy skies where it's always gray, but with the extreme sunny weather as of late, I am thankful for cloudy skies!

Sorry for the late reply. The notifications on nostr, are harder to follow, i'm on a different client right now.

Currently on snort.social. Iris was my favorite, but the global feed seems to have been jumping up and down lately.

The actual distiller seems a better idea indeed!

These were just childhood fantasies - so nowadays, I'm focused on my work at nostr:npub1j9kttlc86w63emmldd4h74rekyqpksqup6p9trhp5gjsf374qlyszvuswx :) Which is awesome visit us when you can!

Water Distiller Using Magnifying Glass

Often "fantasized" or "daydreamed" about making something like this. Don't laugh but, magnifying glass - you know, focused on a transparent glass container with a steel plate at the bottom.

The beam heats the steel plate, boils the water, then the vapor goes beneath an inverted cone shaped lid, which then has a collector which pipes it to another container.

Only problem is the MG has to follow the movement of the sun...

Silly.

That's PHP 14,634.38. Surely, must be a more affordable alternative (I guess boiling water and then scraping off the drops from the lid...

PH hosts ‘scam hubs’ in condos for trafficking victims, senators learn

https://globalnation.inquirer.net/213584/fwd-philippines-hosts-scam-hubs-in-condos-for-trafficking-victims-senators-learn

MANILA, Philippines — Senators were alarmed on Wednesday after Senator Risa Hontiveros claimed that the Philippines was hosting “scam hubs” in condominiums where about 1,000 trafficked victims stay to engage in cryptocurrency frauds.

“Nothing prepared us for what we discovered. Our country is hosting its very own scam hubs. Large condominium buildings are being repurposed to be used as living and working facilities for trafficked human beings – being forced to perform scams on hapless victims,” she said at the panel hearing.

Hundreds or even thousands of trafficked victims are from Africa and Southeast Asian nations like Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, she noted.

“But if the scam hubs in Cambodia and Myanmar are in the middle of nowhere or in provinces, here in the Philippines, it’s in the capital region. In the middle of the urban jungle,” Hontiveros said partly in Filipino.

Stopping.

One stops. Two stops. Then all stop. Silence. Stillness. Collective memory.

Existence.

Meaning.

Loss.

Tragedy.

Survival.

Rebirth.

Convergence.

Commemmoration.

How can a nation disappear and re appear?

How can a nation collectively recall a singular moment. Encapsulated in one word. Years of horror. Generations of pain. The resilience to get back.

The will to resurrect itself.

It takes the counting of tears. Millions of events in a whirlwind, lost, remembered, transcribed. And redeemed.

It took a moment just to stop.

The Echoes of Insane Desperation 2023-04-18

I went upstairs and heard the neighbor's child making inhuman sounds. Sometimes, braying, sometimes like ooowooowooowooo, and it is very unsettling.

The mother is abusive, and curses her son to no end. Her husband left her and her father is dead. She is considered as the black sheep of her family.

They rely on us for food.

We give them what we can, but I know that it isn't enough. The child needs psychiatric evaluation but even if they did have money, it is a logistical concern. I suspect the mother has her own mental issues.

Bring the child to the doctor, the mother is left alone. But still, scheduling for these types of things takes months.

It always bothered me and I couldn't really just ignore it.

Still on break, I've gone back to watching a few udemy videos + rereviwing my replit 100 days of code. I was stuck at day 64 - Object Oriented Programming.

For Dion Training Security+ - Guy is now talking about Data Loss Prevention systems.

I still feel like, most of the knowledge I'm retaining is leaking out my ears. I told myself, I need to become a master of something before I die.

Being a jack of many trades in this era, doesn't work.

Somebody just messaged me on fb, he wants me to join their church. We already have a church and I don't know this guy's angle. Seems nice, but I don't see my life changing with them.

Guy also sells multi-level marketing vitamins.

Day in the Life of a Father of 8

Sunday and Monday are my days of rest. Actually, I don't get much rest at all. Sunday is mostly for family related activities, church, etc. Monday is for getting ready to prepare for the week, and fixing broken stuff.

Temperature has been a pain and I've been getting constant migraines. The electricfan started squeaking so I disassembled it quickly - better than before. That's when I discovered that an "appliance repair guy" on Youtube made $3,500 making simple electric fan repair videos.

This brought me back to the time when YouTube was sold for $1.65 billion USD, but now, I checked its annual revenue, and it was something like $15 billion in annual revenue.

When YouTube first launched it was simply that - a video html website which collected videos from everybody. Who would have known that it would be this titan of the Internet, as part of Google.
