I used to believe in political incrementalism- the idea that you can change things gradually through better election outcomes.

But maybe it was also just youth, I don’t know.

After spending many years studying how the current monetary system works, studying how past debt and currency cycles ended, and based on practical realities from the past two election cycles, I dropped any notion of incrementalism, at least for the big economic things.

Incrementalism works for minority groups to gain social and political rights. Religious people to practice without interference, women to vote, gay people to marry, etc. Immigration policies. Things like that. But it doesn’t work for the financial system.

Instead, history and current affairs suggest that things generally point in the same structural financial direction, uncontested, until there is a massive fiscal crisis, geopolitical crisis, and trend change. And that is when politics becomes critical in all aspects- as chaos develops, the group that has enough power to set the next order *really* fucking matters. They either build a platform of virtue toward the next cycle, or they fall into the unfortunately common paths of communism or fascism.

And it is not just ideas that triumph, but technology too. Technology plays a big role in which ideas are even workable. Both ideas and technology are important.

So when I realized incrementalism wasn’t working, I sought out other methods.

The weaker method is just social- I try to put things out there with my platform to encourage reason, empathy, human rights, etc. Not partisan but also not necessarily moderate, but rather grounded in firm principles of virtue ethics.

The stronger method is to play some small part in building something better. Alternative money. Alternative communication methods. Either explaining and recommending them to people, or directly venture investing in companies that build on them and help improve the UX and solve new problems.

That’s my goal. I want to do whatever tiny part I can to bring about more peace, more fairness, more opportunity, more growth, and less destruction.

Keep non-KYC stack, but indeed I'm afraid they can trace even the past P2P buys, if paid digitally, unless cash was used.

Not that I have these things, just learning about this now, thinking aloud. Looks like we have similar worries.

If it comes to the really worst dystopia, I think the key thing will be an option to leave. But if they close the borders, even that may be gone.

I hope I'm unnecessarily worried and things will be ok. But better at least think about some options I guess.

Here...here!! And yes, God's timing has beaten mine every time (much to my chagrin). And when we finally started tithing...about 20 years ago...wow, how time flies...we ended up not needing that 10% after all.

Been some pretty wild timing - and we've been abundantly blessed even though we've had our own heartbreak situations.

I told our small group, just last week, that peace and joy are two things that can escape me...even though I've been given much to have joy...and by now I should have peace in my life.

But that has to do with upbringing. I say it doesn't impact me, I have nothing to prove, but my wife begs to differ. When I read the last chapter of Peter Attia's "OutLive", that last chapter could have been written by me. Attia ended up in therapy twice - that's just not my mode. Instead, I'm just focusing on my quiet times in the morning, and need to get back to playing guitar with a focus on worship songs. Even starting back to small group was something "new" in the last 6 months or so.

This is something I've always struggle with - why don't the evil - often rich and powerful and in positions of great influence - pay for their sins in this lifetime.

Most do not...and this particular scripture really seems to point to our current leadership that continues to hoard riches and power - more than they would ever need - and they do not care if they leave their descendants in debt bondage or civil unrest.

Me - I wish they'd pay for their sins in THEIR lifetime...for all to see, take heed, and change their own ways.

By the way, this isn't to go "holier than thou"...I have plenty of sins I struggle with daily. And no sin is greater than another...but that is hard to wrap my head around when I just cut loose with some profanity...and Gates/Biden/Clintons/Fauci/WEF seem to escape unscathed. We just have to take heart that the poor's suffering is measured in their fleeting lifetime and the evil have eternity to pay.

Agree...wish more energy spent on this. One thing to talk Citadel...another to plan for it. However, throw another wrench in there, I believe in my own home defense. That means I need a jurisdiction where that is legal.

I live in Colorado...just can't imagine living in Wyoming! But Colorado is purple with strong blue tendencies...not suitable for me if the conformists/statists decide to carry out what craziness the WEF/WHO/Administrative state decide to mandate.
