The Index controllers are great and should be compatible with your lighthouses. Also, the Varjo headsets look like a real upgrade. Also compatible.

The Bigscreen seems cool, but maybe it trades fov and refresh rate for that size and weight improvement.

Every possible image already exists as a jpeg inside of bitcoin's timechain. It all depends on how you decode it.

So many people complain about Apple and yet stillnuse their products. Apple will do Apple things as long as people use their products. Complaining won't change it.

I'm starting to hear, "Look, I know bitcoin is in another class. I just like to gamble."

The real cause of inflation is people willingly paying the 30% Apple tax.

Must be broken for me. I hear nothing. I thought it might have been a rebroadcast button.

What's the little play-circle icon I see on the top right of every post on Amethyst?

Some clients let you see bytes transmitted by relay. Not a perfect indicator, but zero bytes transmitted could indicate a need to renew.

What if your purpose is to ensure your grandchildren will have enough money?

Was just moved to the front of a long line because I was paying in cash. What kind of treatment should someone get for paying in bitcoin?

In 1999, the web worked very well with servers hosted from people's basement. I think if you got a start there, evolving your server infrastructure over time in a financially sustainable way was possible. Now the web demands speed and availability. It seems like nostr relays are especially demanding for speed. Residential ISPs have made it difficult to run personal servers in-house, but perhaps taking a free relay straight to cloud infra is the expensive and unsustainable path.

Global machine pub/sub seems interesting. Transaction/psbt signing coordination is developing. Shortwave was the old way to get a message heard across the globe. Now it's machine readable via internet.

Why weren't people doing it before nostr? Well, the network of relays is important. I think nostr makes it easier by boiling it down to signed and broadcasted messages. There may have been ways to use email or some other relay network to accomplish the same thing, but maybe not so simply.
