Taxation is theft.

Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.
Nothing is more expensive than free government services.

Took my first deer yesterday and processed her myself. A friend taught me how to do it.
I think taking an animals life is something extremely sensitive and should be approached with the utmost respect. I also strongly believe that men shouldn’t be disconnected from the consequences of their actions… as it happens way too often nowadays. #Hunting and everything that follows is becoming a lost art. I love #meat and now being able to understand a lot better where it comes from is a gift. It’s interesting that this experience has increased my love and respect for life even further.

I surely agree with the first statement.
Not too much into the two examples you gave though.
I am curious now… which reforms do you think are needed?
Given the nature of men and the given incentives in the political realm it feels almost unfair to complain about politicians being power hungry crooks. It’s literally what the system selects for… tragically…
Fair. I would argue that the way federalism works in the US is far superior to what is going on in the EU and this puts a certain constraint on top down overreach. Ultimately Americans have more opportunities to vote with their feet and states that get it wrong are punished by that while states that get it right will benefit in the long run.
Also I would argue that the way the European regulatory bodies are being assembled is way more disconnected from the actual voter than in the US. Check how Ursula von der Leyen came to power. I have lived in both regions and I indeed think the EU has more in common with the USSR than with the USA. The US has many issues with permanent bureaucracies, overreach and what have you but it has also mechanisms to heal. I sadly don’t see these mechanisms in the EU.

Your financial services provider unilaterally defaults on his obligations to you while reminding you, in the same letter, that you must still meet all of yours. All based on “concerning activities” they’ve observed.
Wondering if JP Morgan Chase’s relationship with Jeffrey #Epstein qualifies as “concerning activities” 🤔…

When #Bitcoin bottomed the last time around $16k I looked at my $20 daily #DCA and thought: With only 450 newly mined BTC per day it requires only 360,000 psychopaths like me to absorb the entire new supply…
Today it requires 2 Mio hardened psychopaths to absorb the newly mined coins.
Sure OG’s are selling, but they can only sell as many as they already have and if the psychopaths don’t stop buying the price will just go back up to find the equilibrium with the new issuance.
Being short Bitcoin is basically betting against a certain number of people being:
a) sufficiently #FED up with the current system,
b) smart enough to consider sound money as solution
and c) open for technology.
Currently that number happens to be 2Mio at $20/day. Even if you only consider “the wealthy” part of the world it is far less than 1%.
Good luck to our opponents 🫡!

Brilliant explanation of #Marxism.
Very relevant to understand the playbook as it is applicable to so many things.
1. History is defined by the struggle between an oppressor group and an oppressed group (worker vs capitalist, black vs white, religion A vs religion B, climate victims vs climate sinners, Main Street vs Wall Street etc).
2. There is an elite among the oppressed who understands what’s going on and they have the right and duty to lead the oppressed to overthrow the system for the greater good.
3. This elite centralizes power around themselves.
4. Kill everybody who disagrees.
5. Utopia.
Every movement can fall into this dynamic as it is the logic consequence of the human desire for power. Even worse, if the wheels are in motion it feeds on itself as it draws in the worst characters that continue to escalate.
Genuine wisdom and courage is needed to not go along and ultimately stop it.

#Bitcoin really seems to scare socialists. This is a poster of the German Socialist party - legal successor of the SED who terrorized and murdered its own citizens in east Germany before the Berlin Wall fell). It says “instead of gambling with Bitcoin stop rent gouging”.
It’s hard to express my feelings for these people without getting very insulting…

Wild… the level of manipulation in the language of that thing is stunning „that hurt me… not for myself but for the people…“
I see the next newly minted slander word is going to be something like robophobe, if you dare to hurt the feelings of a government AI.
Imagine being in the #UK or #Germany posting memes making fun of their new AI politicians. Straight to jail you go you far right extremist☝🏽.
I share your experience. Raised in Europe, I couldn’t connect with Christianity. Drawn to science and logic from an early age, I rejected religion as unnecessary. Even now, I struggle with the concept of self-sacrifice as the highest virtue. I see great danger in sacrifice, as determining the right cause feels like an unsolvable puzzle.
However, after living in the US for many years, I’ve noticed that the best people I’ve met are religious. It’s clear they draw strength from their faith. While I’m not a believer, I genuinely feel they have something beautiful in their lives that I can’t access. I don’t envy it, as I don’t believe faith can be forced. Still, it makes me wonder if they are closer to the truth than I am and whether I’ll ever reach that understanding.
One of the greatest illusions of our time is the belief that we live in capitalism; in a system of free markets, honest prices, and open competition.
But what we have today is not capitalism. It is its distorted image, a dolled-up corpse that is sold to us as freedom.
Precisely those who rail most loudly against capitalism understand its principles the least. They regulate and strangle, create monopolies, lobbying, inequality, and blame the "evil capitalists" when nothing works.
We do not live in capitalism, we live in corporatism: a symbiosis of state and corporation, in which laws become commodities.
No longer does the consumer decide, but the lobbyist. No longer does innovation rule, but proximity to power.
Licenses, subsidies, and patents have replaced competition. Those who play along with the political game win; those who question it lose.
The entrepreneur is no longer the creator, but the supplicant.
He no longer struggles for customers, but for approvals.
And the politician who lets himself be bought calls that "responsibility." Both profit, only the citizen pays the price.
This is how the monopolies arise that are blamed on capitalism: not because the market fails, but because it is shackled.
Microsoft, Google, BlackRock, they do not live despite regulation, but because of it. They write the laws that build them protective walls.
Capitalism is voluntary exchange. Corporatism is institutionalized banditry.
Only the state turns success into a privilege and property into a grace right.
We do not live in capitalism. We live in an alliance of coercion, lies, and convenience.
And as long as people get up in the morning and fear a world without the state and its artificially conjured authority, this problem will not dissolve into thin air. The state is not the guardian of a free market, but its violent suppressor.

A wise man will not create a rule that he wouldn’t sanction if it were used against him.
Wisdom is so dearly missed these days as collective time preference shortens.
The fact that markets are so interested in whether or not a #FED chair is getting fired tells you how broken this whole #fiat system is. When the economy is no longer interested in how companies are adding more value to society but everybody is focusing on some elderly witch doctor, it’s time to play a different game.
#Bitcoin is the exit.
