There are wealthy people and families who are first generation, 3-5 generations, or multi-centuries. Those families are made up of people of varying motivations, upbringings, and disposition.
Many try to keep their wealth and power, it’s starts out as “I want to care for my family and the next generations” and that is noble. Then it degrades.
So those people form relationships with like minded, like-resourced people and sometimes do great things and sometimes not. I think Bill Gates is well intentioned but takes things in the wrong direction.
