Yes, this is my real name. BTC Class of 2020 Mansuetus mane et sats accumula

Changing of seasons is a time I frequently get a cold.

Anecdotally, about every other person here in north-central Illinois seems to have one involving a hacking cough, right now.

You had me for a second, wondering how I’d missed that, lol!

I’m sorry, Canada.

I live in Illinois, though, so I can relate.

Truth be told, I think both of our countries’ peoples would be better off if 2 became about 8-12 countries.

⚡️💬 MY THOUGHTS - Since the blackout that paralyzed all of Spain yesterday starting at 12:30 PM, no official explanation has yet been given by the Spanish electricity grid operator. This silence raises questions, especially in the face of such a serious event. Has it become too sensitive to admit that incidents like this might be linked to an all-green energy model — one imposed without real debate and presented as a miracle solution?

Flying over Spain, one can see vast fields of solar panels covering entire regions. Behind this attractive image of modern ecology lies a major vulnerability. This energy production is entirely dependent on weather conditions, making the power grid much more unstable and unable to reliably balance supply and demand on its own.

My theory is simple: publicly acknowledging that this energy model creates a risk of massive blackouts would be a political failure. It would call into question the entire narrative surrounding the European Green Deal and the push for rapid energy transitions. To avoid opening that debate, some might prefer to delay or withhold clear explanations from the public.

But if this silence continues, it risks further eroding the already fragile trust between citizens and those making major energy decisions on their behalf.

What do you think? Are we witnessing the first visible consequences of a rushed, ideology-driven energy transition? I’m genuinely curious to hear your thoughts — I’ve met a lot of sharp minds on Nostr.

I think you are right.

Frightening, too, as all I see driving around the midwest US are windmills put up in the last 20 years, now solar farms going up faster than Dollar Generals, with hydrogen on the horizon.

Most worrisome thought is Carney’s central banker ties are behind it.

You can usually make sense out of his bombast, but not on this one.

April 27. - ST. ZITA, Virgin. St. Zita lived for forty eight years in the service of Fatinelli, a citizen of Lucca. During this time she rose each morning, while the household were asleep, to hear Mass, and then toiled incessantly till night came, doing the work of others as well as her own. Once Zita, absorbed in prayer, remained in church past the usual hour of her bread making. She hastened home, reproaching herself with neglect of duty, and found the bread made and ready for the oven. She never doubted that her mistress or one of her servants had kneaded it, and going to them, thanked them; but they were astonished. No human being had made the bread. A delicious perfume rose from it, for angels had made it during her prayer. For years her master and mistress treated her as a mere drudge, while her fellow servants, resenting her diligence as a reproach to themselves, insulted and struck her. Zita united these sufferings with those of Christ her Lord, never changing the sweet tone of her voice, nor forgetting her gentle and quiet ways. At length Fatinelli, seeing the success which attended her undertakings, gave her charge of his children and of the household. She dreaded this dignity more than the worst humiliation, but scrupulously fulfilled her trust. By her holy economy her master's goods were multiplied, while the poor were fed at his door. Gradually her unfailing patience conquered the jealousy of her fellow servants, and she became their advocate with their hot tempered master, who dared not give way to his anger before Zita. In the end her prayer and toil sanctified the whole house and drew down upon it the benediction of Heaven. She died 1272, and in the moment of her death a bright star appearing above her attic showed that she had gained eternal rest.

April 26.— STS. CLETUS and MARCELLINUS, Popes, Martyrs. St. Cletus was the third Bishop of Rome, and succeeded St. Linus, which circumstance alone shows his eminent virtue among the first disciples of St. Peter in the West. He sat twelve years, from 76 to 89. The canon of the Roman Mass, Bede, and other martyrologists style him a martyr. He was buried near St. Linus, in the Vatican, and his relics still remain in that church. St. Marcellinus succeeded St. Caius in the bishopric of Rome in 296, about the time that Diocletian set himself up for a deity, and impiously claimed divine honors. In those stormy times of persecution Marcellinus acquired great glory. He sat in St. Peter's chair eight years three months and twenty five days, dying in 304, a year after the cruel persecution broke out, in which he gained much honor. He has been styled a martyr, though his blood was not shed in the cause of religion.

I don’t agree with their theology, but I’d love to have Amish Neighbors. I imagine my homesteading would progress a lot better……while still providing them immense entertainment.

Some hope for the world today….

I went to a Traditional Latin Mass near my home today. I (45) was definitely in the older 50% of attendees (at nearby conservative parishes I frequent, I’m in the youngest 20%).

Lots of young families, many with 4+ kids

Yesterday, at my daughter’s confirmation, the younger priests & seminarians looked like they belonged more in the above world, as compared to the bishop and older priests.

Stay healthy. We Xers might not live to see tge final fruit, but maybe we’ll at least know thinga are moving the right way.
