You can run a liquid full node that allows you to ensure federation members are behaving. You can also potentially become a federation member, though I do not know the requirements.

With all due respect, nobody doesn’t want freedom. Some people just fear the potential beatings and lynchings more, and sometimes for good reason.

Freedom can be scary to contemplate because an attempt to attain it that fails results in punishment.

That’s the root of the “Bitcoin is boiling the ocean” critiques, it’s an attempt to scare people away from trying, to convince them that if they try they may end up worse. If they allow anyone to try we may all end up worse. And people believe that because they can’t even imagine being free of debts and bills and creditors.

Everyone wants freedom. Some people just don’t believe it is even possible.

Bitcoin is the currency on the sidechains. You call them later 2s if that sounds better.

But I personally I am biased as I would love to have end-2-end encrypted btc transactions via Monero type sidechain.

Well there are people who claim miners are the custodians.

But I think that’s a lazy argument as miners are profit seekers.

If the don’t mine sidechain txs they lose out on business and will be outcompeted by a miner who does mine sidechain txs.

I have two weapons, Bitcoin and privacy, with a common ammunition, cryptography.

Confession: I have been spreading the word about Bitcoin for years through different channels and different identities, and for over 20 years spreading the word about the importance of privacy. In real life, outside of the internet, I have been able to convince fewer people than fingers have a hand about Bitcoin and none about the importance of privacy.

When I was delusional and younger I tried to convince my colleagues about Bitcoin, I left traditional finance and became a 100% Bitcoiner, they continued with their stocks and bonds, the result is more than evident and still...they refuse to see it.

Maybe I'm a bad salesman, but I'm very suspicious that the average citizen simply lacks testosterone.

With the fake pandemic I was able to confirm my suspicions.

Now in real life, when someone asks me about Bitcoin I tell them that it is a scam, if someone wants to get started in Bitcoin they will have to prove it to me and pass the first test, persistence.

If you are young and you still don't have your head eaten by the NWO, I will give you 4 tips:

- Take care of your body -> No Pain, No Gain

- Bitcoin

- Computer science

- Read a lot, but don't read novels, read science, history, philosophy, economics, maybe it's not as fun as novels at first, after a while you will understand it and you will make a difference with others.

The renaissance man is the model to follow, specialization makes people ignorant and manipulable.

I just also support the creation of better options for people who do refuse to focus on Bitcoin (for whatever reason). There are enough of those people that too much of a "fuck em" attitude is likely to be counter productive.

A federation of 60+ (& growing) people & organizations. And since they can't see how the money moves, & they can't change the supply, & they would all have to collude to kill the very infrastructure they benefit from, I certainly don't see why it's not a completely valid way to help solve the scaling problem. There are some tradeoffs, but it's far more secure than any shitcoin & it actually contributes to LN privacy. Fediment is basically just a small scale version of a similar thing.

Tether is good for providing the 3rd world more efficient ways to move money that will keep them out of banks & ultimately promote use of Bitcoin infrastructure. It will contribute to lightning liquidity & will make adoption of (swaping to) Bitcoin as a tool for saving a much simpler process. It is incredibly conservatively managed & the revenue is being used to fund development of keet & other p2p infrastructure.

Tether is a way to move people who have no idea that they need Bitcoin closer to Bitcoin without them knowing.

Liquid is not like an ETF or paper Bitcoin. Liquid is a monero like sidechain & it is a bridge for cheaply, & privately onboarding more people into lightning & other scaling solutions.

Why don't more clients include GIF search so that we don't have to switch to a web browser, search for the GIF, copy the URL to the image, then switch back to the client and paste it? Built in GIF search is superior. Plebstr and Nostrgram may be the only ones to support this? I would have thought Snort or Amethyst would have added it many months ago. Maybe Primal will be next?
