I blame much of this loser energy on all these slick UX apps making it *too* fucking easy. Too many people have coin who haven't put in any proof of work and most of them will also turn it into dollars when it hits 110k.
These people should not be coddled, they should be pushed to greatness. The only path to greatness is node running, btw. And anyone can do it, but few will.

First, you should return value to Alby in some form as a token of gratitude for what you've made off free access to their node this whole time. Then second you should quit being a huge crybaby and just build your own node. There is zero...ZERO excuse for a bitcoin content creator to be working without their own node. Your camera and light kit combined cost more than setting up a node does.
Build a node, install alby hub, click one button to transfer your alby sats from THEIR NODE to YOUR NODE. And after that, Alby will continue to function the same as it ever did, but the sats are in your node instead of theirs, where the shit belongs!

It's pretty straightforward, in your AlbyHib go to the App Store and open the Friends and Family app up, put in the name of the person and it gives you several onboarding options (you need to choose one right away, as the onboarding options are only shown once. You can delete and recreate the family wallet if you aren't ready yet). I just did it with Alby Go mobile app and once you scan the QR it lets you choose a new alby lightning address.
I'm not sure if this can bring your wife's existing alby account into your hub or not; my wife runs her own lightning node so we have different alby hubs running on each node.

totally depends on your node's liquidity. Often people use 3rd party services and thus aren't able to know what liquidity the node of their provider has. For my node, I could receive a maximum of ~1.9 million sats in a single payment, but 1 million would be much more reasonable.
With current fees on-chain being low, I would probably send anything 500k sats or more on-chain if I had the option.

Yeah the plug and play option is great if you have the budget up front and it will pay for itself on a long enough timeline if you are a V4V artist.
