Pura Vida!

We will eventually reach a point where small, local #Bitcoin circular economies merge with each other and the #BTC circular economy will simply be the norm. The overall economy will simply be Bitcoin oriented, operating at scale as the only medium of exchange or alongside another fiat currency.

There is a very good chance that we will see this realized first in #ElSalvador. Not only are there already multiple local Bitcoin circular economies like Bitcoin Beach, nostr:npub17mx0ehx58tfjhq74cchjqzn8u9adlc3r27fr8akg0gavuwvjdtdq6u222d, and Bitcoin La Pirraya, but Bitcoin is also legal tender, it is being held and mined by the national government under leadership of nostr:npub1n6ycrxrap2872hxs9ffu4vfn42pfrccr7hevxat6gr39vdzn3nqq2ra474, the National Assembly, and the El Salvador Bitcoin Office, but Bitcoin education and financial literacy education are being integrated into the public education system, based on the nostr:npub17cyatz6z2dzcw6xehtcm9z45m76lde5smxdmyasvs00r4pqv863qrs4ml3 curriculum and model. This last point receives far too little attention. It assures the resilience of the population and the scale-up of normalized use of Bitcoin well into the future.

It is also very likely that the progress made in El Salvador over the coming years will cascade throughout Central America, with nodes of activity also being formulated by nostr:npub1tw4am7vzwl3akmyg4cwny27x8ltrwajrwrsate872gnpqnvzqd8s3f6nwr nostr:npub14f26g7dddy6dpltc70da3pg4e5w2p4apzzqjuugnsr2ema6e3y6s2xv7lu @AmityAge @bitcoinyucatan and others. A regional Bitcoin circular economy for Central America is just beyond the horizon, the reality of the next generation.

Onward!

Sounds good, but seeing it for yourself on the ground is a bit different.

Literally everybody is using custodial lightning wallets, that means:

- not your keys, not your coins, dependent on a third party to spend your money

It also means no privacy, full surveillance through the lightning app providers which log everything and of course give all your transactions to the government if asked.

Having been to El Sal three times and spent quite some time there with BTC people, i have strong doubts if this is going in the right direction, sadly.

Costa Rica welcomes you with great weather, incredible nature, good surf, hot girls and no capital gains taxes :)

Must be from climate change or misgendering!

Good day to exchange more BTC to XMR, just saying...

who is buying the XMR/BTC dip?

interesting to see the narrative on bitcoin changing every few years. energy grid balancer token is great to take us to $250k+

like companies which store their data in "the cloud". i have never thought that people will be that stupid - but here we are.

Yea, imo financial privacy is a no brainer. Bitcoin Maxis are afraid of stating that obvious fact because BTC "decided" not to compete in that field.

The more people realize this, the less attractive BTC gets for normal people. Also as a store of value.

XMR is an incredible opportunity at the moment.

Important Announcement

We have made the decision to no longer list projects in sensitive conflict zones, including any project raising funds for, or located in such zones. This is effective today.

It wasn’t an easy decision, and it’s one that we know will bring some disappointment amongst you.

Geyser has always stood for providing access to crowdfunding to those that previously didn’t. We serve a global user-base that, through the power of Bitcoin and human connection, has and will continue to positively impact the world.

We have also gone through great lengths to preserve Bitcoin’s properties of being a sovereign medium of exchange, ensuring we never take custody of funds and do not require the submission of identification to raise funds.

Unfortunately, and as many of you know, the movement of funds is increasingly a point of scrutiny. Even more so when the destination of those funds is a conflict area where it is difficult to have any guarantee that funds won’t be used to finance war, resistance movements, scams and criminal activities.

We do not custody, administer, or control any funds contributed to the projects at any time. Additionally, we aim to avoid the possibility of these funds falling into the wrong hands. Accepting and listing such projects could necessitate implementing increasingly intrusive measures to verify the identities of creators, which we prefer to avoid.

Importantly, we have no reason to believe any funds raised on Geyser to this day have been used for criminal activities. But, after carefully considering the risks, we decided to no longer list projects in those high risk regions.

For these types of sensitive projects in conflict zones, protocols > platforms.

While this was a difficult decision, it is one that will allow us to give a greater focus on supporting the creators, educators and builders furthering Bitcoin adoption.

Our mission continues to be to enable powerful Bitcoin ideas around the world.

Monero does not give a fuck about the state. Think about it.
