Most people come to Bitcoin simply to make more fiat. A percentage of those people will fall down the rabbit hole and become real Bitcoiners.
However, I think onboarding more people in any fashion is important.
I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I feel like Saylor is playing 3D chess and knows that if he pitches Bitcoin as the revolutionary technology that it is it will be seen as more of a threat and attacked.
Bitcoin winning is not a forgone conclusion but having a significant portion of global wealth on our side would sure help.
I self identify as a crypto anarchist.
Maybe we need to introduce this new form of money in some sly roundabout way. 👀
Wrestling teaches you a lot about life.
Not just the basic things like “hard work pays off” or “there’s always somebody better than you”
One thing that every wrestler knows is that when you’re facing a vastly inferior opponent you never are able to compete and your best.
The best that you’ll ever perform is against an opponent who is superior to you.
This is reflected in life, the phrase “you become the people you surround yourself with” is so true in everything you do.
I respect that stance, I think Bitcoin needs people like you to call out potential threats. I do agree there is likely harder times ahead of us and the powers that be will not relinquish that power willingly.
However, I have hope that most people have more to gain from embracing Bitcoin than fighting it and once we have enough people on our side it will be impossible to fight.
Bitcoin was designed to resist nation state level attacks and I find it highly unlikely that the government is going to start executing people for holding their own keys. Don’t forget that the government still derives its power from the citizens and if they push it too far they will lose all of their power.
That being said, self custody is a hill that I am willing to die on. I just hope that it doesn’t come to that.🤷🏼♂️
I entirely agree, we have all of the tools to build an entirely p2p circular economy right now and that is the path that I want to take.
However, I have no doubt that the first scenario that you described will also be a reality there will be many institutions offering bitcoin products and a lot of people will choose that convenience. Some people will have to learn “not your keys not your coin” the hard way.
But I don’t see that as a bad thing, everything has trade offs and ppl will do what they want. But having more coins trapped in these fiat institutions only makes on chain kyc free coins more valuable.
Can’t argue with that logic🤷🏼♂️
Explain to me how these institutions are going to control Bitcoin??
Not everyone is going to go full self sovereign cypherpunk even though I agree they should.
NGU is necessary for us to build freedom go up tech.
Exactly! Bitcoin has no enemies, just people that don’t yet understand it.
Call it cope if you’d like, but I don’t see how having the world’s wealthiest and most powerful institutions on our side is a bad thing.🤷🏼♂️
My keys are safe and my node will keep on running regardless of what Saylor does or says.
I still believe that Saylor is a huge net positive for #Bitcoin.
He is not trying to sell to any of us who already understand it. He is talking to the vast majority of the population who don’t really care about self sovereignty or separating money from state.
The reality is that the vast majority of the world’s capital is held by fiat institutions. We should want as many people exposed to Bitcoin as possible regardless of if they choose to take self custody or not.
The beauty of Bitcoin is that no one controls it and it doesn’t matter what other people do or say, we can hold our own keys and build the world that we want to see.
As Saylor often talks about, having the option to take self custody is what is so powerful but it won’t be for everyone and that is okay.
Watching #Bitcoin pump while delivering pizzas is a glorious feeling.
Just here for the vibes and the zaps 🤷♂️🫡
I wish I could put Bitcoiner on my resume and people would understand what that meant.
I’ve spent probably around 1000 hours studying economics, finance, philosophy, game theory, complex systems, ect.
But most people hear Bitcoiner and think of Shiba Inu or bored apes Lmaoo.
I never see myself leaving NOSTR, I am here to stay.
I do believe that this protocol will continue to grow and evolve over the coming years, but even if it were to stay exactly how it is today I would be more than happy to interact with all of you fascinating people every day!
Honestly very true, they need to working capital to grow their business and deliver on a lot of promises.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”

Crazy how much martial arts have leveled up in such a short period of time.
But then again it’s kind of an example of how free markets and open competition drives innovation.
When all the arts were siloed there very little improvement but put them all head to head and we can actually figure out what works!
