Just about every business is trying to monetize their service or product with a subscription model.

I understand why that's attractive to a business owner. But, I don't like it one bit. Especially when their using tricky web design tactics to get my consent.

Software licenses are an exception. Those prices go up every year like everything else, so they break it up into a "monthly subscription" service. I kinda get that.

I don't need it for my car wash and vacuum and I don't need it for my printer ink. #RantOver

I try to stick with pay and you own software when I can, subscriptions just kill.

Hello, new here. I’m an old guy, I train in Jiu Jitsu and I’m also interested in tech, privacy, security, and anything that makes folks tinfoil hat rattle. I think I have my wallet setup right, so I guess it’s time to rock and roll.
