A software developer from Mexico. I like Bitcoin, Monero, Cats and technology.

I stopped using #Figma for like a year and now that I’m using it again I see f*in Adobe owns it. WTF.

Why can’t we have nice things? I’ll even pay more for it just to keep the small players in the game.

Moving to something else, like #Pendot

Apple didn’t like it so the developer had to move it to the profile.

You can still go to test flight and switch to a previous 1.5 version to see the zap button on the notes

Went to the nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h in NYC with a friend, by recommendation of nostr:npub1ypznd87pzkcn352r37vd8s5ez6vxe877dwpq8alls6vlp7hwrjfspp27hc. Pretty cool place. Had a couple hotdogs and a couple sides with cocktails. Paid with Bitcoin, orange pilled my friend and got some very cool swag. The bartenders were great. Sats well spent.

Visiting NYC after a few months. Anything Nostr/Bitcoin related going on in the next few days?

I like to think of it akin to sending an email. Once it’s sent, it’s sent. Can’t undo it, can’t delete it, can’t edit it.

I have sympathy and respect for its ethos.

Specially since the tracking from the Canadian gov to those who donated Bitcoin to the Freedom Convoy. It was a great example of why privacy matters, how quickly things can escalate if an entity can track monetary transactions and the importance of non-custodial wallets.

The least a Bitcoiner can do, is to some (preferably all) non-KYC Bitcoin.

VectorLinux (Slackware) was the first Linux distribution I used.

It was the _only_ one compatible with our family’s only computer at the time. It was a pentium MMX 166MHz. Can’t remember the brand. But it was a black, heavy, sturdy and beautiful beast. The monitor seated on top of the horizontal chasis. You could hear the insect-like noise from the mechanical hard drive. The speakers were integrated in the monitor.

Every single distro I tried, crashed on kernel panic error.

It was a long and tedious process because I had to download the ISO file (over slow dial-up, I think it was 128 or 256Kbps), burn it to a CD at slow speed (otherwise it wouldn’t read it), and finally boot it… only to see it crash.

Then I would go find a different distro and repeat the process. There was no google back then. Only forums filled with other enthusiasts like me.

Then, like magic, VectorLinux worked out of the box. And it was fast.

Dear traveler:

When a big company engages in philanthropy, it might seem like something good and positive, as it benefits many sectors: health, education, social programs, real state, arts and culture.

But if you know where to look, you’ll find that there are other, usually darker motives that tend to cause more harm than good.

Why would a very wealthy entity do philanthropy in these very specific sectors? Why not just give it to charity?

Are they doing it just for social responsibility, legacy and reputation? Financial benefits? Or power and Influence? Maybe consolidating a monopoly?

The devil is in the details, as they say.

Oh I didn’t know Strike was a KYC wallet.

Keep this in mind before funding your account, as they won’t let you touch your Bitcoin until you dox yourself.

This little maneuver costed me 100 sats.

Deleting account and removing app shortly.

“Is my reality someone else’s dream?”

Perception, you see, is a curious affair,

As individual as a breath of fresh air.

What we perceive may differ, from soul to soul,

A kaleidoscope of perspectives that extol.

But fear not, dear seeker, for there is no test,

To determine if reality is a dream, at best.

Embrace the moments, both surreal and clear,

For life’s mystery is what makes it endear.

Interesting topic. Here’s what I can see:

- boosting users where the metric is determined by the same user, sounds VERY risky: “My living wage is 27M Bitcoin. I will never reach it bc there’s no 27M BTC, so I’ll always be boosted to the top”

- We already have mechanisms to Boost and Zap (as much and as many times as the user wants).

- other fiat social networks have a much bigger user base (orders of magnitude)

- I suspect that if she does a per-capita calculation instead of an absolute, numbers would be very different.

- It depends on the type of content she’s selling and her target audience (i.e. selling stuff to boomers who are not in Nostr)

- Maybe she wants a fundraiser instead?

Congratulations, you are now a free agent. The master’s whip has no effect on you anymore.

Take this opportunity to grow, explore and chill.

You’ve got this.

Interesting, cool story.

I didn’t know “Pura Vida” was a Mexican movie from 1955 that inspired the popular phrase in Costa Rica.

A phrase I barely hear anywhere else. Ticos adopted it and owned it for good🤙🏻
