In due course, it will be clear that COVID was a run on the bank on Western healthcare. Trouble started when governments implemented measures, not before. People panicked, and systems that were already on the verge of collapse lost thousands of employees who were sent home when they tested positive. Downward spiral until… they stopped doing anything, which is when things started to get better.

One of the absolute stupidest shit (in our current times when there’s no lack of stupid shit), is that Canadian journalists are all now parroting that questioning the Bank of Canada is a dangerous right wing attack against “our institutions”.
I don’t know where to start to express how moronic this is. The constitution of all Western democracies is a set of rules based on the premise that one should not trust the State’s institutions. These rules have failed badly at times, but are still rooted on suspicion versus “our institutions”. You can be liberal to the bone but if you don’t see the Bank of Canada with some suspicion these days, you’re a dangerous idiot.
The silence of traditional media vs rising internet authoritarianism, all in the hope of not spoiling their chances of getting subsidized through big tech taxes, is a huge scandal. They are conflicted to the bone and are the worse source of information on the topic. This debate shows (ironically) that they aren’t an objectively better source of news than what they are purporting to outclass in trustworthiness.
