I have a feeling I'll be ghosting a lot of friends in the coming years.

Spending time around bitcoiners makes me question old friendships. I have friends I've known for 20+ years who haven't offered any real value in a long time.

That sounds awful to say, but they are so caught up in their dead end jobs and other bullshit. No care for anything else. They think the MSM and government are the best sources of truth. No interest in growing, or in self reflection.

Any attempt at deep, meaningful conversation basically turn into the "That's crazy. Catch the game last night?" meme. It's frustrating.

I'm still processing my feelings on this. I haven't had a close "crew" of buddies since high school. Even that was superficial. I've always been that guy people hang out with, but never a part of the "inner circle" or whatever.

I'm not saying this to garner empathy. I'm the complete opposite of depressed, and I don't stay up at night wishing I was one of the cool kids. I like having a close family, a wife that's my best friend, and a couple others I can talk to about anything and everything in a meaningful way.

I'm just wondering if it's time to drop some baggage.

Nostr is a great place for long-ish form writing. I love privacy, but I also love sharing the human experience. I spent the first 30 years of life keeping everything bottled up inside.

Never going back to that.

Good article but you missed the fact that most people's employment is fixed to a specific locale. Having to give up your job or the ability to work remotely is still not generally feasible or permissible.

I'm sitting here listening to the rain and the forest, drinking a cup coffee, and thinking about Europe and the direction it's headed.

On one hand. I LOVE where I live. The quality of life is off the charts; I've got great friends, good food, and insanely good access to all the outdoor activities that makes me happy.

On the other hand. It's becoming more dystopian every month with the continuous stream of AML/KYC/Taxation/Prohibition laws being proposed and/or coming into force.

The continual gaslighting and incompetence that goes on at every level of government about the causes for rising cost of living and deteriorating economic conditions is also beyond absurd.

It's not the continent for running a business. It's not the continent for building wealth. It's not the continent for being free and having agency over your life and your finances.

I don't want to leave my valley. But I don't want to be subject to the EU bullshit either.

I know I'm mostly complaining here, and I'm certainly not expecting anyone to have any answers for me, but it's something I think about often and I wonder how many others are in similar situations.

I'd love to hear from folks that have left Europe (or other crumbling empire states) about their experiences.

Also – where have you all found to be the most free & open jurisdictions in the world?

Both Biden and Trump are kind of retarded. We have known this for a long time.

During the debate, Biden’s age issues became unmasked. And then during the tragic shooting on Trump, he had the courage and presence of mind to fist bump and come out very strong. And in their emotion, people of course rally behind strength.

But then when we go back to hearing Trump speak for an extended period of time, we are reminded that he is kind of retarded, like where we were before, prior to the emotion of the crisis.
