I had a chance to work with an older adults Parkinson’s group during 2024. It was eye-opening to learn that environmental factors — pesticides — are a main cause of this disease. During my training as a dietitian I do not think I ever heard this. The group I was working with was located in a rural farming town. These individuals were well aware of how the industrial spraying near their homes contributed to their disease.
Clean air, clean water, and clean food should be available for everyone.

I was asked to speak with a seniord Parkinson’s group on 2 occasions. It was an eye opening experience preparing for the meeting and getting to know some members.
Industrial agriculture is to blame for many cases. Multiple of the individuals had lived in locations where spraying on farms near their homes was done regularly. I am certain this affects water supply as well.
