Yup, it's good manners imo if content is automated to make filtering easier.

On things like astral it makes less sense, no need to doxx used client when you don't have to.

of course - bip-47 is just payment codes.

you can come up with something like lightning addresses username@domain.tld to handle them instead if you wish.

Paynyms just capitalized (and popularized) on bip47 but the solution is centralized and trusted.

astral does.

it's a bad idea in terms of privacy, and is non-standard afaik.

Thanks.

At least they're tagging their client as starbackr.com + nip05; easy to block once we have filters in place if you don't like seeing them.

#[1] can we get 'show more' to handle these? Perhaps depending on line count instead of character count (?)

me too. I don't see them on global.

can someone link me one of the event keys for a starbackr post to see which relay is sending them?

yup, looks like damus and astral don't handle event 5 / nip09 yet.

Clients should still treat it as deleted once they see the deletion event:Β https://www.nostr.guru/e/add70743b37e95b4d4944798b2afa1ae0ba273cc61a1cdbabd60166c11468f4b and not count on relays not serving it anymore.

Yup! Would be great if it would keep a 'show deleted event' to emphasize that the data is still there, and deletion is merely cosmetic.

people.

bip-47 is very clunky; doubt there will be mass adoption.

I suspect most adoption is through paynyms, and paynym.is is a centralized database that you trustΒ to return the correct payment code to you. use payment codes natively.

Looks like astral (and damus(?)) don't deal with event deletion yet.

My relay ack'd though:Β hid 1 deleted events for author "246ca9df"

Not very often to be honest.

And always straight payment codes; no paynyms.

exchange fees aren't typically dynamic either.

they almost always overcharge with a set 'network fee' that has little to do with the actual mining fee.

Send your transaction.

Set the fee to 1 sat/vb.

Go on with your day.

I never understand why people delay their transactions instead of setting their desired fee... and just... waiting.

Oy vey.

* BIP-47 has nothing to do with Samourai. Paynyms are a dumb centralized (and useless) directory of payment codes. Notification transactions do not require anything over a dust value to work.

The 15K fee is arbitrary, not explained to the user, and a simple grift. I'm not going to waste my time repeating this again.

* Samourai on Android leaks your xpub by default. You can try to weasel your way out of that by claiming they push for Dojo but that doesn't excuse the behavior when you don't. They can easily use either Electrum servers or literally anything else for a minimal privacy loss instead of sending the xpub over and doxxing all future transactions for perpetuity (and fucking over all Whirlpool participants).

And no, Ledger Live stores your xpub locally, and only queries addresses n+x to fetch your transactions. It does not send your xpub over to Ledger at any point in time. The only privacy you lose is the current addresses with value + a small buffer of future addresses. Trezor sends your xpub just like Samourai. Electrum behaves the same way as Ledger Live in terms of privacy loss.

What is hilarious is that Ledger Live (!) by default has better privacy than Samourai's Android app without Dojo. And that Ledger live also allows you to setup satstack for complete privacy (just like setting up Dojo).

You have an insecure shit Samourai default or private through Dojo.

And a better default behavior from Ledger Live or private through satstack.

* Ricochet isn't a service, it's a scam. Stringing together a few pay-to-self transactions and charging a fee for.. checks notes.. nothing more than a basic local operation with zero Samourai coordination is a grift. This isn't explained to the users.

I'm wasting my time replying to you any further.
