nothing a cheesy and fatty plate of gnocchetti alla sorrentina can't fix

from personal experience a few hours ago πŸ˜…

Yeah I understand logistics is a nightmare.

But:

shopinbit does free shipping with an LN payment to Italy but costs 79 euro and only has the orange variant.

cryptoken does 5 euro shipping to Italy but costs 75 euro and only has stock for the transparent/green variants.

Not a single EU reseller option is reasonably priced πŸ™ƒ - it's the same price to get it directly from blockstream with their discounts (50 euro) and freight forward it to Italy + pay VAT...

WHY ARE JADES SO EXPENSIVE IN EU?

Not a single reseller has pricing below 75/80 Euro πŸ™ƒ

And barely any have stock to begin with.

Okay, thoughts on the $25 bitkey now that I received it through my freight forwarder in EU:

* Pros:

The user experience and on-boarding is really frictionless.

The hardware build quality is excellent, this thing feels incredibly premium for what it is.

At $25, it's a steal.

* Cons:

Entirely useless outside of the Block setup. Not interoperable. Can not be used as an NFC key in a normal multisig.

Not convinced that the "recovery" pathways if you lose two of the three keys are safe.

At MSRP, it's delusional pricing unless it is allowed to be interoperable.

* TL:DR;:

Not for me, and because it's not interoperable, it's nowe-waste..

Some of you may know, I balance nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld and bitcoin work with my full time development director work.

Everything I do in Bitcoin and the Progressive Bitcoiner and the 15-20+ hours I put in per week is not funded (really just our basic infrastructure is funded). The team contributes completely volunteer as well, in-kind support worth thousands and thousands of dollars.

I need your support to keep these efforts moving and growing! The best way to do this is to support us via our nostr:npub1kmwdmhuxvafg05dyap3qmy42jpwztrv9p0uvey3a8803ahlwtmnsnhxqk9. See below to help sustainably fund our work to reach millions of progressives worldwide ⬇️ πŸ™. Even if you are not progressive/left, we are the only group focusing solely on this hugely untapped group of hundreds of millions worldwide and presenting them with good bitcoin education, research, policy, and advocacy.

https://geyser.fund/project/tpbpod

Given more support I’ll be able to focus solely on this Bitcoin work and do the following which I am unable to fully do now:

- increasing number of pod episodes per week

- conference attendance

- speaking engagements

- consulting work with nonprofits, advocacy groups, and political staffers

- more writing for newsletter and various publications to get more free resources out to the public

- more video projects on YouTube and more

Consider partnering with me on this today! We also have a Patreon for those who wish to give support in fiat: https://www.patreon.com/ProgressiveBitcoiner (but this is nostr so I’m assuming you’ll want to do geyser πŸ˜‰)

Please share far and wide to build support πŸ™

Always refreshing to see your content. Nostr (and Bitcoin in general) has a very vocal far right bubble.
