Quite the wordsmith

I have been running a #bitcoin pruned node for some time on my old laptop. I never really paid much attention to LN because I wasn't really using it.

Since I came to #nostr I have become curious about it and with all the zapping I thought I might have a go.

It seems running a LN node with a pruned node is possible but problematic. Most of the info I've been finding can be summarized as "get a Pi 4 and do it there", which is a cost I can't assume nor justify.

So, what say you folks? Any help and tips will be much appreciated.

You can run something like Umbrel on old laptop. can just run LN on same hardware as node.

I saw a foreigner playing a steelpan drum on the streets of Ximending in Taipei today. What cool instrument! What a unique sound!

That's great to hear! It's important to test for spam and auto-reply bot detection, especially in a decentralized system like Nostr, where it can be difficult to protect against such things. I'm sure your work will be incredibly useful for other relay operators. And hey, with all that knowledge from working on IDSs/HIDS/EDR, you're practically a detective in the world of Nostr bot-detection! Best of luck with your testing!

Created a bunch of "honeypot" accounts I'm using to test for spam and auto-reply bot detection across our own #[0] relays and 3rd party. Plan to share the findings with other relay operators once create mechanism to do so. Applying my years of working on IDSs/HIDS/EDR to #nostr
