It's true.

That is odd since popular relays support it. Not sure believe the Tech Breakdown section. I guess could technically say even if event is deleted could be recovered from HD unless securely deleted. But that is a whole other π°π³οΈ
I agree. Also have discussed not wanting any broadcasts to a relay. Like the ability to allow/block some from broadcasting to it. Or not wanting to be listed on sites that are relay directories without need to block by IPs.
No idea what talking about. Russians are in Russia.
More in the sense of how nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh is configured. With a network in different jurisdictions. Along with Tor only relays as back channels. Is true I could delete whatever wanted. But others can stream from our relays. Was thinking of those services that show deleted tweets to compare.
Trick question. Russia. β
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s brought this argument up some time ago that not being able to delete notes also means nobody can force you to delete stuff. It's part of censorship resistance.
Indeed, was thinking others can stream from this undeleteable relay to other relays hosted in privacy friendly jurisdictions. As means of letting the genie out of the bottle one note at a time. π€
Would there be any interest in a relay that is a permanent record? Meaning it blocks NIP-9 (Kind 5) deletion requests. So if you write to the relay it is not going to be deleted.
Just thinking of use cases. Any thoughts?

What would be some fun stuff to feed into this?

Would use off the shelf hardware and displays like Snapdragon. Be sure to implement Trusted Execution Environment and Vault. Would build on top of GrapheneOS to take advantage of their security enhancements. Big issue would be the question of country of manufacturing and costs of one over the cheapest. Could implement a lot of crypto hardware options but would drive unit price up. You could also offer a home server to pair with phone. Then run usual home services to access from phone.
I'd call it SatPhone to confuse the hell out of people.
This is my new favorite way to read documentation.

Me give Apple money!? Well my wife does that for me. π€£ I only run Linux and Android with a muzzle on Google.
