On the quest to live a mindful, happy, healthy, long life.

GM. Today I wake up with a very vivid #dream still present. A picture carved into my mind: A natural amusement park full of waterways and slides, wide and narrow, made out of stone, coral and shells. People are enjoying themselves immensely. It's both beautiful and entertaining. I want to capture this #fantasy scene. Keep it.

So I use the picture generation feature of Venice #AI. It's the first time I try it and I'm amazed at how good it is! My prompt engineering probably needs some work though, because the picture doesn't capture my dream scene fully, but it's still beautiful and inspiring to look at.

I'm currently learning more and more about #narcissism and its spectrum from normal to destructive and pathological. Dealing with people, who have an extremely inflated view of themselves and are incapable of receiving constructive, well meant criticism are hard to be around. For me it's unpleasant to say the least. I prefer open and honest conversation with all cards laid out on the table, a feat which doesn't come easily to some kinds of people. They like to exert control to increase their power. This comes at the expense of closeness and mutual respect and leads to the destruction of trust and relationships.

Do you have any experience with narcissistic behavior? Any advice on how to approach such people is greatly appreciated.

GM. Sometimes we all wake up less than refreshed, feeling sluggish and heavy. It turns out #Adenosine levels are to blame. #Sleep clears out Adenosine and leaves us well awake in the morning if all goes well. However, if we sleep too little, Adenosine builds up and we have a low energy day.

That's why a lot of us use caffeine, which blocks Adenosine receptors and mitigates its effects.

That's only temporary though. The Adenosine doesn't vanish, but stays in the system. Once the effects of caffeine wear off, we are back to feeling sluggish and weak.

So at best #coffee and other caffeinated beverages are a quick, temporary fix, but not a cure. The only cure is a good night's sleep with optimal deep and REM sleep cycles.

As the world is burning yet again , full of uncertainty about the future, destruction, pain and unnecessary suffering, I want to leave you with these words of hope by William Morris:

Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,

And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,

Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover

The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,

Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder

And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd over,

Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;

The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter

These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

Even though amazing future tech to prolong your health span is just around the corner and some people are already benefiting from it, it's important to still focus on the basics:

-) Diet

-) Sleep

-) Exercise

-) Stress Management

Optimizing these four key areas of your life, will help you lead a happy and healthy life, so that you will be ready and in your best shape when longevity technologies finally become available to all.

I recently learned that the speed of aging might be controlled by stem cells in the hypothalamus, a structure in the brain chiefly responsible for directing our endocrine system. Human trials are already under way to rejuvenate this area of the brain by using exosomes and thus turn back the clock. It's mind blowing that this is working. It's not some future tech, it's here right now. Longevity is within the reach of all of us.

Would you extend your life and undergo such a treatment if it's proven safe?

A case for gratitude and appreciation:

GM β˜€οΈ . I love quiet mornings and some time to myself before everyone gets up. I use it for yoga, meditation, a run or some chores. Today I enjoyed this short morning yoga session with Adriene. It left me feeling energized and ready for the day.

"Communication is about what is received, not what is intended. If there is a gap between what you are saying and what they are hearing, you have to find a new way to say it." -- James Clear

It's all on you. Hard to accept sometimes, but also empowering to know that rephrasing the message, altering the tone, choosing a different time to communicate, ... might make the other person understand you better.

I love plants, but unfortunately I suck at caring from them. So I've always opted for appreciating plants and trees outside instead of in my own home. Until a friend sent me this infographic about NASA's research into air-filtering houseplants. It convinced me to give houseplants another try. Now there's an Aloe Vera in my bedroom and a Sanseviera and some lilies in my living room. It feels great to know that they are hard at work cleaning the air. Gives me an extra nudge to work harder myself at caring for them. I welcome any tips from seasoned gardeners about correct watering (I tend to overdo it)! πŸŒ±οΈπŸ’§οΈ
